Slater's Cottage

The property was clean, very comfortable, well furnished and the kitchen is well-appointed. It has gorgeous views from the front windows (two of the bedrooms) and the third, although less spectacular, is still green and pleasant enough a view. The beds were comfortable. We’d have happily stayed longer.

The only real drawback (and it’s a minor thing) is the proximity to the road, and large vehicles do have a tendency to go down it quite fast as it leads out of the town. It probably wouldn’t stop me going again though, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re taking small children or pets for example. We didn’t really have any contact with the staff, and the one thing that would improve the rating would have been if they had replied to our messages (we politely enquired about early check-in/late checkout. We would have preferred an actual reply rather than just an automated denial. As I have mobility issues more time to check out would have been extremely helpful and we would have been prepared to pay a late checkout fee - so more communication to discuss these possibilities, rather than an automated refusal would have been nice). Overall a very good cottage though.

Lovely setting, lovely cottage within close distance to Richmond, Leyburn and the surrounding area.
