Natural Geothermal Hot Spring Retreat Rotorua

This had the potential to be a 10 except for some really odd quirks. Key collection was easy once I got the codes. You walk through a shared area with a washer (great, huge washer) to the front (back) door of the apartment, open it up into the kitchen and everything is really clean. Nice sized fridge with a great freezer. Fairly well stocked. Bed was comfortable with decent pillows. Nice storage with a reasonable amount of hangers. Mineral springs tub was large, clean, had easy in/out access and very nice. Parking was easy. Host was very responsive to our questions and helped us with several issues. Fast wifi. Reasonable shower pressure. Great landscaping and outside seating.

Very odd appliances. I have no problem with the washer not having a dryer because there were lots of drying racks - would have been a problem for a short stay. Dishwasher was really strange, countertop unit (?) which made all the plates and bowls really small. I have a hard time doing justice to the fan/air conditioning unit. They were huge in the bedroom and living room and you were supposed to add ice to them? No ice trays. Apartment tended to be very hot given that it was winter. Only 2 towels of poor quality, we wanted to take mineral tubs and shower and had insufficient towels to do that without a dryer. The disposable paper towels in the tub room were insufficient to dry you. No "book" of the apartment to explain the peculiarities. Lousy temperature control in the shower, had to fiddle with it a lot. No in between covers on the bed, either a sheet or a heavy comforter.

Loved the hot pool, property was clean.

When booking we had the idea it was the entire home. Unaware there would be people staying below us. We checked reviews and people asked if it was for the Entire home and they replied yes which is why we booked. So had to be mindful about walking around at night even though floors were terribly creeky every step you took. We could also clearly hear people downstairs so was a but of a downer for me and my family as we would get home late from tournament. Also had 4 of us in booking and only two rooms upstairs so one of us had to sleep on couch, not worth what we paid.

Great short stay for a large family

Lovely downstairs apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Advertised as Thermal Spa.

Advertised as Thermal Spa. Would have been lovely but one morning it was too cold to get in. After that it was so hot we would have burnt. Very disappointed as we paid a significant amount for that facility.
