Summary:
Villa Certaldo is a great villa for large groups of family or friends. It can sleep up to 18 guests in total in 9 spacious bedrooms. It Offers excellent value for money and boasts a private swimming pool with exceptional views over the surrounding countryside. The villa is also ideal for weddings and celebrations.
The Space:
Villa Certaldo was once the home of the Marchese Pucci family in the 1800s. In 2003, it underwent a sympathetic restoration which brought back to life many of the original features and details from that period. At the same time, all the modern creature comforts were also added.
Inside Villa Certaldo, the accommodation is arranged over three floors. The total space measures 600 square metres. Rooms are large, bright and tastefully decorated with period furnishings.
On the ground floor, guests will find a large dining area, equipped with table seating up to 18 guests. There is also a large living area and well equipped modern kitchen. The first of the bedrooms is also on this floor. This has a separate bathroom with shower.
On the first floor, a large entrance hall provides access to seven double bedrooms. Five of these can be laid out with two single beds if guests prefer. Each bedroom has an ensuite shower room. One bathroom also has a hydromassage bath tub.
Guests will find the final double bedroom on the second floor of Villa Certaldo. This has an adjacent bathroom with shower. There is also access to two terraces from this floor. Both enjoy breathtaking views over the Chianti hills.
Outside Villa Certaldo is surrounded by a large private park. Access to the estate is through a rather imposing ancient iron gate. Within, there is a large park with space for plenty of vehicles.
The private swimming pool is positioned to make the most of the incredible views of the surrounding countryside. This can be heated on request up to a temperature of 29 degrees centigrade. The pool measures 18 x 4 metres and is 1.3 metres deep. A terrace surrounds it, furnished with sun loungers. A gazebo provides a lovely covered seating area with comfortable outdoor chairs and sofas. Beyond this, there are olive groves and woods filled with centuries old trees. There is a BBQ for al fresco dining.
The villa is ideally suited for weddings, events and celebrations. There is an extra charge of 1000 euros to hold events at the villa. This must be paid in cash on arrival.
Please note that any electricity usage above 500 KW per week is charged at 0.50 kwh. This is payable on departure in cash. Also payable locally is a final cleaning fee of 50 euros per person (with a minimum charge of 500 euros). Local tourist taxes are 2 euros per person per night. A security deposit of 1500 must also be paid in cash. Water usage is charged at 5 euros per cubic metre. Extra beds can be provided for an additional cost. Please ask for more details.
