Historic Kemp Estate Carriage House – Cozy 2-Bedroom Retreat
Stay in a charming piece of history at the former carriage house of the historic Kemp Estate, a beautiful Tudor Revival property dating back to the 1930s. This private, first-floor apartment blends historic character with modern comforts, making it a welcoming home base for couples, families, and small groups.
The Space
This approximately 750-square-foot apartment comfortably accommodates up to four guests, with two bedrooms and three beds. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, full closet, and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers a daybed with a twin trundle, along with a closet, dresser, and desk.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dining area. Relax in the living space with a Smart TV, or enjoy your morning coffee on the private patio.
Outdoor Amenities
Enjoy the shared front patio with outdoor dining, comfortable seating, a gas grill, and a gas fire table. A second backyard deck, shared laundry facilities, and one reserved parking space are also available.

We just returned from our second stay at the Carriage House in Ocala’s Historic District, and we’re already planning our third trip next year!Every 4th of July we load up the Jeep for a 9–11 day vacation based in Ocala. It’s the perfect central spot — only a couple hours to completely different adventures. One day we’re off-roading in Ocala National Forest, the next we’re exploring St. Augustine, Mount Dora, Daytona, Cedar Key, and more.The Carriage House is clean, comfortable, and has everything we need: a 2-bedroom, 1-bath layout, fully equipped kitchen, coffee bar, welcome snack basket, and a nice reclining couch with TV for chill nights.The owners, JP & Jill, are fantastic. They’re always a quick phone call away and incredibly accommodating. When my wife got sunburned, JP immediately brought over aloe and lotion — that kind of care really stands out.The location is unbeatable. You’re walking distance to downtown’s great restaurants and craft breweries. The Historic District is full of beautiful late 1800s/early 1900s homes, and the surrounding area offers tons of history, old forts, and forest trails for 4x4 fun.We highly recommend the Carriage House. Clean, comfortable, perfectly located, and hosted by truly wonderful people. Book it — you won’t regret it!

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property! The host was excellent with communication and very responsive. Absolutely loved the decor, amenities, and cleanliness of the place. Very close to downtown which was so convenient, you could even walk there. I highly recommend staying here!
