About this apartment rental
This apartment is located inside the famed Kemp House. The Kemp house, circa 1938, is a Tudor Revival home, built for T.J. Kemp an agent for the Sinclair Refining Company during the 1930s. This large residence is noteworthy for its brick detail and half-timbering. Originally a single-family residence, it eventually because a boarding house in the 50s and 60s-renting rooms weekly. Later it housed retail stores, a coffee shop, and The Blue Heron Gallery. This space was used as an Art Gallery.
The one bedroom apartment A, is on the first floor of the Kemp Estate. The apartment is about 775 square feet contains its own entrance, bathroom, bedroom, living room/kitchen, and private deck.
The bathroom features a very large shower with three rain shower heads, a double granite vanity, fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels.
The bedroom features a Queen sized bed with topper, a small smart TV, armoire, desk, sound machine, iron and ironing board along with an extra pillow and blanket.
The living room/kitchen features a queen sized pull out sofa bed, two dining areas, a full sized refrigerator, a gas full sized stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and essentials like salt/pepper, oil, tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, etc. We do include a welcome gift of pastries to get you started on your first morning.
The TV is a smart TV so bring along your login information for Hulu, Netflix, prime etc. If you don’t have a membership, each app offers free trials in addition to the other free apps on Roku and live TV tile on Roku.
The front patio offers a gas grill, outdoor dining table, and outdoor furniture. The back deck is a private oasis with Edison lights, outdoor furniture, and two lounge chairs. There is a reserved parking spot, if you need more please make arrangements prior to arrival. There is a shared laundry room on property open 9am-9pm on a first come first served basis
**We offer one of the most affordable rates for a one bedroom within walking distance to the downtown restaurants/bars, shops, and entertainment.
**There is no pet fee, no additional person fee, only a $60 cleaning fee. Guests are not asked to do laundry/cleaning etc. as housekeepers will take care of it upon check out. Each apartment is cleaned by professional housekeepers who are paid by the cleaning fee with no markup for the owner.
**We offer great discounts for weekly and monthly stays.

Nice inside but wont stay here again.-black mold in the shower. Also barely had enough time to wash my hair and shave before water went ice cold- unit was hard to find and poorly marked -keypad to unit didnt work well-Heat didnt work well-every outlet had glade plugins that were overwhelmomg along witj an aroma therapy machine-tv didnt work well-clogged shower drainage -No checkout instructions- shared laundry unit that was somewhere outside and for our stay we couldnt use it bc of assigned times. -no directions of where to take trash or what to do with itCaught the unit on sale but even then it wasnt worth the cost. No extra linen we could find and it was hard to heat the unit without turning the heat up high, then it got too hot and we had to tuen the a.c back on to cool it off. We couldnt get a comfortable temp.
