1 bedroom Apartment in Golf del Sur Peeble Beach with big terrace

Check in/out very good met by the lovely Aleshia. The apartment was spotlessly clean. Balcony/terrace was lovely, gets the morning sun but still a little shaded due to balcony above & the pilar. Area fairly quiet but a little building work going on (didnt bother us), balcony faces the road, which isn't too busy - we enjoyed people watching with our early evening drinks. Living area, bathroom and balcony spacious for 2 people, would in my opinion be a little cramped for any more. Bed really comfortable although only a standard double. Pool lovely, if a little cold - apparently heating goes off at beginning of April! alright once in, pool bar welcoming, plenty of sunbeds. Complimentary bottle of wine and water - but nothing else in kitchen at all. We did leave our salt and pepper so they may or may not still be there - I realise this is a balancing act as you don't want loads of unusable things left. But some tea/coffee and sugar would be great for arrival. The area is lovely (which we kind of knew as we have stayed on the Gulf de Sur before, but not Amarila Golf). The 19th Hole was great for drinks, fab views from their terrace. Good local walks along the coast. Only 10 minutes to our favourite restaurant Alecrim a must for any foodie! 20 mins level walk to San Blass and Creviche No1 another great restaurant followed by live music in the rock bar opposite, loads of other great restaurants here too, spoilt for choice. Overall we did enjoy our stay, we love the area. I would score the apartment higher and would return if the items in our didnt like list are addressed.

The property below on the ground floor had rubbish under the stairwell which was below our bedroom window, smelt like maybe their dog had used it as its bathroom! Due to this we couldn't open the bedroom window and there was no aircon, so a little hot at night, I did report the rubbish but it was not removed during our stay. The ceiling fan in the bedroom made quite a racket - we left it on by mistake when we went out one day and it seemed to cure itself, which we were extremely pleased about given that we couldn't open the window. The area clearly has a problem with the sewage processing plants it is not a constant smell but pretty bad when it wafts in on the wind - I would like to stress that this is not a fault of the apartment it is the area, you notice it in other roads too, but really does need sorting, quite acrid! The bedroom window faces the external staircase, so you have to keep the curtains shut all of the time, unless you like on lookers? Didn't really bother us, we kept the curtains shut and the neighbours were respectful, being quiet when passing - but some may not like this, so worth mentioning as it is not obvious. The kitchen could benefit from the following:- - Tea towels, the only one was about 12" square and smelt a little musty, we used a hand towel to dry up; - A few small storage jars to put left overs or things like opened olives in the fridge; a measuring jug or bowls to use in the microware ie to make scrambled egg in; - A small knife the only ones there have 10 inch blades and were blunt, which is quite normal in holiday lets but annoying if like me you cook, I take a sharpener with me now! We improvised, as you do and got by but cooked the smallest amounts in the biggest of pots lol. Only 2 toilet rolls for a 7 night stay! We left 3 as couldn't buy a small pack, so the next person may be lucky.

Excellent accommodation, ideally located. Apartment had everything we needed, clean and comfortable. The terrace was huge and great to sit out on. Communication with the host was excellent, answering our questions quickly before we arrived, to meeting us outside the property on arrival.

Although there was a television we could not get any English channels. In the normal way this wouldn't bother me but there was a storm for 2 days and we couldn't get out .I messaged the agent to ask how it worked and she replied I don't know. The wooden balustrade on the balcony was very rotten and unsafe.

Bed was comfortable. 2 pool areas we used very pleasant. Nice large balcony in all day sun with canopy if needed Very good bus service although a good 20 mins walk uphill to get to stop. Selection of reasonable priced cafes and restaurants in the area with nice staff. Apartment has lots of potential if owners prepared to give it some love. Wouldn't use again but saw some nice ones better cared for.

Lounge furniture passed its best.Shower fixtures broken.Lacked a decent fridge with freezer area Only had hob and microwave and that wasn't enough for a 4 week holiday. Was a lot of black hairs around every room at first thought was dog but some around 6 inch long so must be humans .Wasn't able to get rid over whole of 4 weeks holiday.Curtains in bedroom very thin so didn't block out stairwell lights Bedding poor quality had to remedy this by a trip to local IKEA for sheets and mattress cover. A lot of cutlery was rusty had to separate from other cutlery.
