Retreat at the Lake - Fishing Lakes, Heated Outdoor Swimming Pool 500yrds on Sister Park , Pool Open May to September

Quiet and peaceful site. Great comfortable accommodation.

No good dog walks from the site

Location was great close to our family in Exeter. The café next door next to site was good for breakfast and early lunch, closes at 2.30. Woodleigh Park was beautiful and tranquil. The caravan had great balcony and catered for all our needs. Pool was good once you got there.

At Woodleigh caravan park, no recycling facilities found, no dedicated dog exercise area, not ideal for young children as no play area. 500 metres to sister park which is Springfield retreat, is not walkable with young children and the distance is actually 0.7miles by car. Also at Springfield retreat the pool was great, however lots of construction going on and again not good for children. Also our dog was not felt welcome at Springfield retreat at the seated area local to the pool, no signage for dogs not allowed in this area. Pubs not within safe walking distances. No public footpaths from Woodleigh park.

Location was nice

Couple of things: 1. It would be good to let future holiday stays with dogs to say the whole park is covered in very sharp stone and I have a elderly dog and he found it very uncomfortable to walk on and was also talking to someone who had a dog and they had cut their dog paw pads on it. 2. The umbrella stand is very rusty at the bottom and looks like it could break off is a strong wind, on day we had to put umbrella down because of this. 3. The oven could do with looking at as the flames are too high for the temperature we had it on and it was burning the food. 4. Also we did not have any towels in main bedroom so had to use 2 from out friends (so we had one big towel and one small) and the small towels were small for after a shower.

Excellent communication. Coded access makes arrival and departure a breeze. The site is well maintained, and the pool at the sister site was great for a cooling dip. The caravan itself was in good repair with all the equipment that you required for a comfortable stay.
