Sweet Briar

It's helpful that it is next to a pub, so you can grab food / lunch from here. It's a lovely little property and perfect as we had a cat travelling with us. He and we found it a comfortable little find. There were a couple of things that are easy improvements... but as we were out for most of the day and only back for evenings and overnight, we found this property suited our requirements.

Parking isn't ideal, and neighbours are miserable when you park outside their property (even if it is just overnight), even if you leave space for access we had some huffing, puffing and rude stares and muttering under their breath. Having a couple of spaces pre-arranged at the pub next door would add value to the experience. In the end we arranged this ourselves to avoid being a nuisance to the neighbours, and the pub were very friendly and accommodating. The property didn't seem as clean as it could have been, it had lots of cobwebs, and we ended up having to hoover the carpets when we arrived, as there was crumbs and pet hair all over the floor. It was also quite dusty. The hob kettle isn't ideal it takes so much time to boil and, it would be nice to have an electric one for speed and safety. During our stay we ended up buying loo roll as we ran out and could not find any more in the property. Thankfully there is a little shop down the road. There was also no kitchen roll either which was a bit of a miss I feel. Also having really small mugs wasn't ideal for making Toast and Tea in the morning, but we made it work. The soap in the bathrooms too was just bottles refilled with washing up liquid, which is a shame as, these small things make such a big and positive difference to your stay. The mattresses were really soft too... but maybe that's a personal preference, but the bedding and towels were clean, which is important.

External bins were full on arrival. I put the recycling bin out for emptying. The general waste bin should have been put out the week before. Facilities said there was a dish washer. There was no dishwasher however there was a washing machine which was not mentioned.
