Quality gaps emerged immediately: wardrobe with broken door hinge, fractured mechanism, stray hair on windowsill. Minor issues individually, but indicative. Notified concierge. No apology; instead, request for photographic evidence of the hair. Response pattern established: burden shifted to guest rather than acknowledgment of fault. Cleaning team deployed. Wardrobe remains unaddressed. Hair persists. Further escalation felt like creating friction, so I accepted the half-measure. The room functioned, but the reception to a legitimate maintenance concern was defensive rather than service-oriented. Second friction point: living area television non-functional. Concierge response terse—it’s in the listing, doesn’t work. Technically true, possibly. But again, notification triggered deflection rather than facilitation. No offer to resolve, explain, or accommodate. The property’s design vision is sound. Listing accuracy is intact. Location merit is real. Execution falls short of premium-rate standards. Wardrobe mechanisms, electrical infrastructure in common areas, basic cleanliness—these are baseline, not luxury additions. Service model favors automation: unattended check-in, minimal human contact, concierge seemingly under-resourced or disempowered to problem-solve. Each issue became a test of whether I’d advocate for myself or absorb the gap. I chose absorption to preserve the stay.
