it was a homestay. The owner lives next door. super helpful. just a short walk from the beach
The short walk from the beach gets a bit dark at night. And you need to cross a railway track. while the area is safe, one needs to be a bit alert & carry a torchlight

The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was sufficient, and the hosts are lovely. I only stayed a few nights since I was spending more time at a nearby cafe with fast wifi than here, so moved closer for work. The wifi here is sufficient for day-to-day things like email and trip planning. Definitely faster than many other homestays in Sri Lanka. For the price, the value is off the charts.
As others have mentioned, there isn't much natural light in the suite. Well, none. But again, for the price, I could have managed.

The location is perfect. Close to the beach and a few cafes & restaurants but tucked away from noise. The garden is beautiful and although it is simple, this place has a special energy to it. The host family are really nice, attentive, generous and kind. I felt safe and taken care of through out my stay!

We had a great stay here! The location is perfect – set back in the jungle in a lovely garden and only a short walk to Kabalana Beach. The room is small but very nice and functional, with everything we needed including a fridge and kettle. It felt comfortable and well thought out. The owners are very nice - would stay again.
