Chalet Sonnenhof Wengen

We loved the views outside, the quiet little neighborhood, and the house decor. The taxi driver gave us the tip to walk to a nearby farmstead for ice cream one night and that was a cool experience for the kids.

We had to request extra towels because at first there weren't enough for each of us to have one, but they were delivered quickly and without disturbing us!

The location is stunning! The 15 minute walk to get their from the train station in town was gorgeous! We had everything we needed for cooking light meals. We didn’t use the grill but we could have. Thankfully there was a washer and dryer which we desperately needed. The bed was very cozy with a gorgeous view of the alps. The hosts were wonderful and provided suggestions as we planned our hiking itinerary. The shower and bathroom was small but surprisingly very comfortable with great temp. and water pressure. We loved our stay!

We had to be careful for the large amount of buzzing insects in the one tree around dusk. We navigated it well and it wasn’t a problem.

Our stay was incredible! The location was exceptional - close enough to activities but also much more quiet and less crowded than other areas. The hosts were very friendly and helpful - we would have missed out on some great experiences without their suggestions. The room was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we could need. We loved it here and feel like we made the absolute best choice for our stay in the region.

La ubicación. La tranquilidad de los Alpes: localidad "sin coches". Una maravilla cuyo situación hace que para acceder tengas que usar (y así poder conocer de primera mano) un tren cremallera no turístico (buena frecuencia, cada media hora) y luego dar un bonito paseo (hay transporte-taxi local en pequeños vehículos por si la carga o las condiciones personales lo requiere; desconozco precio porque no lo usamos) Llevad una cena de disfrute porque la estancia va a hacer que así sea.

No tener antes la información precisa para saber dónde tener que dejar el coche (en un parking de larga duración, económico para Suiza, próximo a la estación del tren de acceso y bajo la cascada de Lauterbrunnen), para saber que hay que coger el tren (sólo 7 CHF/pax) y con las indicaciones para coger arriba taxi local o ir andando -porque el 'bucle' bajo las vías que hay que hacer para ir a pie vuelve loco a GoogleMaps-. Aunque esa información nos la dio la primera persona que nos vio mirando asombrados hacia lo alto de la la montaña al final de la carretera a la que te lleva el navegador con la dirección. Aunque no me disgustó, lo hizo "más viaje"
