Didn’t like the steps to access the other side of the property - a gate would’ve been better. The bedroom is stuffy during the night as the windows can open but can be a security Irish.

Beautiful location, friendly staff & attractive interiors but lacks that finer touch.

The location is magnificent & the staff is super friendly but same issue as at Stoep. They need a proper manager.

The attention to detail is lacking. Damp in the shower. Badly finished finishes. Peeling wall paper. We couldn’t order wine or bubbly and apparently they couldn’t get it from Stoep either. They forgot to turn on the hot tub for our morning session. Cleaning cloths left outside to dry. Just general tardiness.

Delightful Kalkbay stay

Stoep is conveniently located in the heart of Kalkbay, close to restaurants shops as well as the tidal pool. There is a lovely coastal walkway that stretches in both directions as you leave the hotel. It is a perfect stay for our purpose of a quick breakaway weekend. Faith and staff were ever so helpful and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful! We love the decor and old work charm of the hotel so tastefully decorated. Our favourite was enjoying the hot tub at night looking at the stars and listening to the sea.

Pretty but very big room downgrade and no apology or compensation

Very kind on-site staff, good breakfast

We booked (and paid for) a superior spacious sea view room. We were told there had been a mistake, our room having been allocated someone else and were allocated a small dark room with no view and located at the top of the stairs of the main building, making it quite noisy. On our second night we were moved to a more spacious and quieter sort of flat, still falling short of the room we had paid for and chosen and in which we discovered two thumb size bugs in the kitchenette and bathroom within 10 min of moving in. The staff apologized and told us that we would contacted by "the manager" very shortly, then next morning, then in the afternoon, then next morning again. We have not been contacted, have not received an apology, certainly not a refund. Overall the rooms we saw are decently pretty but many things do not work (certain blinds don't open for example or certains windows do not close fully). We recommend avoiding this hotel due to poor management.

Fun & great location with lovely staff

The location of this guesthouse is perfect for a stay in Kalk Bay & has the most wonderful balcony looking out to sea where you can sit & relax. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.

The staff were so friendly and helpful The location was great and views from the hot tub fabulous of Kalk Bay Breakfast was delicious and you had several locations to eat from Our room was connected to a lovely court yard Location great to visit Cape of good Hope boulders beach Nordhoek

The room was not very private. I couldn’t have the curtains open without privacy from other guests and then it was dark. Privacy curtains would be a great idea

Fantastic Staff and great hotel, next to a busy road.

Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Sandelie and Faith. All staff introduced themselves by name on first meeting which was a nice touch. The breakfasts were very good. The hotel was well located for visiting the many shops, bars, restaurants and tidal pools.

For us the room was too hot and we would’ve preferred air-conditioning. As our room was at the front of the hotel we were disturbed by the road and train noise which also made sitting on the beautiful balcony less relaxing.

It was hot. No fan or air conditioner. The fridge door sticks on the carpet it is difficult to open. The door was difficult to lock. The breakfast took a long time. No juice was offered.

10/10 for all aspects of our stay

This boutique guest house exceeded our expectations at all levels from the pre-arrival communication, the welcome drink, the spacious modern sea-facing room to the uber-comfortable bed, upmarket linen and friendly staff. Really a great choice for Kalk Bay. We had a tasty breakfast and the restaurants were within walking distance.

The Google directions from Booking.com take you off course and get you lost up little narrow streets. We recommend you get a pin drop from the host, Faith.

The location. The decor. The breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere. Faith and Lesley, the service was excellent throughout. They were very accommodating and helpful. The bath.

The WiFi was down and we couldn't watch TV or connect to WiFi. Our room type needed air-con. There was a fan but the room gets hot.

lovely staff, close to the shops and restaurants in Kalk Bay, nicely decorated rooms, parking was possible on the side street directly next to the hotel (we assume that this might be an issue during high season due to limited parking options)

Central location for a night stay

Great location, walking distance to cafes, restaurants & shops. Staff were very professional & welcoming. Good breakfast.

Wifi wasn’t working the entire duration of our stay which wasn’t ideal we needed internet access & it meant the smart tv wasn’t working either. No door to bathroom so not much privacy when using loo or showering. Little detailed bath salt bowls had been used by previous guest but not refilled.

Loved it

The staff was very friendly. The hot tub was amazing, and the view from the stoep was breathtaking. I also have to mention that the breakfasts are very yummy and there is something for everyone. Most importantly, we really appreciate that they accommodated our 2 lil doggies. We felt very welcomed and relaxed. Will come again!

The location was incredible! We booked the sea facing guest room, it was super spacious, modern, and had everything we needed and more. The hot tub was a bonus and breakfast was amazing. A big shoutout to the staff, especially Faith, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
