The location is great, on the Royal Mile, shops not far and close to The palace of Holyrood House. Was key for us. Relatively clean which is good.
A great, comfortable hub for us. The house having lots of character and history, and some nice views from the upper windows. Rather than a boring hotel room.
We have enjoyed ourselves.
Not very suitable for disabled or elderly as a lot of curved stairs up and down. And the outside has front step to contend with.
Also being with kitchen ground floor and lounge mid floor and best bedrooms top floor. A struggle, But we managed this time round.
The lower bedroom can feel damp and cold.
Master bedroom top floor TV and lamp not working. But we managed.
Lower toilet difficult to flush through/weak flush.
Was told would be milk ready for us on arrival and spare bin bags under sink in kitchen. But nothing.
Would prefer they told us so we would bring our own, instead we rushed out to buy it after arrival.
Do not call upon Central Taxis if you are in a/with someone in a wheelchair or mobility scooter. It's a waste of time. They are rude, and discriminate to disabled people and have no ramps. Despite a few of their big cabs having a disabled badge on them. Their WhatsApp msg service is rubbish. Also same for flagging down a cab.
Your better off with Uber or a disability taxi being arranged elsewhere.

Beautiful historic home with a lot of room for everyone.
You will not meet your hosts, so that can be trying. We had issues with the thermostat connecting with the actual furnace, but it was resolved by online conversations.

The upstairs master bedroom didn’t have its own toilet or a toilet on its floor so if you wanted to go to the toilet, you either had to disturb the person in the en-suite on your floor or go all the way down to ground floor.

Perfect location for old Town
The 2 main bathrooms are not accessible without going through other bedrooms. (Not a big issue for family and friends though)
