Luxury Calatrava - Apartment in Venetian Palazzo by Sarlux

The apartment was beautifully designed and in close proximilty from Venezia Santa Lucia Station.

We had many large luggages with us and so it would have been great if the host could have let us know that we could have taken the public boat (1 stop) and get off in front of the apartment building. This way, we wouldn't need to carry our luggages up the lengthy and high stairs to cross the canal to get to the apartment. And of course the apartment is another 2 sets of stairs up, so it could have saved us a lot of energy. Since the apartment is located on the canal, it did get quite noisy all day long and there were some mosquitos despite it being 15c outside.

the location was perfect. Water bus, taxi, buses, trains, all transportation right out your door. As you step into the apartment you feel like royalty, to have this amazing vast space in Venice! it was a great place to call home for a 4 night stay. the master bed was the perfect firmness, very comfortable and supported my back. The towels were new and soft. The kitchen had everything we needed for light cooking. There is toiletry Store (DM) and a grocery store next door. There are 2 cafes downstairs. I loved the amazing views of the Grand Canal, the apartment is right on the canal.

There was no complimentary coffee, no tissues, and just short of enough toilet paper for our stay. But there is a store next door to purchase these items. The living furniture is all new and very nice, but made for very small people, in such a grand room there should be grand furniture. Nothing to keep me from coming back.

I liked the location. Easy access to transportation with buses to airport and ferries all over Venice. Also very close to a supermarket and luggage storage facility immediately downstairs.

I did not like the awful buzzing sound that happened every one to two minutes loudest in the bedrooms. It sounded like someone buzzing on a doorbell to get admitted to the building. It sounded every 1-2 minutes all through the night. If you didn’t have earplugs you would not be able to sleep through the noise. Management said that it was probably the aircon making the noise. Whatever it was it was unacceptable. I also didn’t like the fact that we were only supplied with one and a bit rolls of toilet paper for two people for three days. It was inadequate and when this was communicated to management there was no response. It certainly did not represent LUXURY in any sense of the word, neither in what was supplied nor in handling and communication. There were zero coffee pods supplied for the coffee machine either, which was not a very friendly welcome at all.Do better Zarlux!
