Paardekloof Farmhouse

Amazing location in the mountains, beautiful old farmhouse and the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a holiday property.

The valley is always spectacular, quaint, filled with the sounds and smells of nature, peaceful, with starry nights, and yet it offers total comfort in the farmhouse, which manages all the temperatures the Karoo can be. Wonderful linen, blankets, beds, plenty of wood and the weekend Deli is a must-try (and the horse rides). Our dogs did not want to leave either.... Joe is the best host and his cooking is also exceptional. There is also mucg to see and do in the area, although we tend to just hang out at the farm.

Utterly beautiful farmstead... big comfortable stoep (verandah) with a view of the barn and the Swartberg mountains... just the right amount of farm animals around ( love the muscovy ducks!) The farmhouse is simple and cool... deceptively so.. everything is super beautifully thought out .. simple, easy luxury.. despite the price.

Nothing... the rooms aren't technically en- suite but the bathrooms are lovely and large and who doesn't want a walk across the stoep to get to the loo!
