The Bishop

Great location, large rooms, use of kitchen, friendly staff and the faded grandeur of a Sultan’s London home (marble bathrooms, tennis court in the garden). We enjoyed playing tennis and chatting to other guests. The nearby Bonga Cafe in East Finchley does a superb coffee.

The place is a bit neglected (guttering falling off, rubbish in the garden), some mattresses were uncomfortable and a few items were missing (no bedside table lamps).

Feel like home. Staff were good and helpful

Property need but maintenance but room and washroom was clean and good.

The location was absolutely perfect - only about 10 minutes' walk from where I was doing my week-long language course - and the cost was amazingly cheap for such a prized location and such luxurious accommodation.

My only tiny niggles were that there was no desk or table for me to do my homework at, and no bedside table where I could put my alarm clock, glass of water and reading book. And also the lighting was a bit dim for my poor eyesight.

The staff were lovely and really friendly, and the kitchen was so well stocked and the kids loved it. They even got treated to Krispy Kreme donuts! Great location and some really nice parks and restaurants nearby with good transport links.

The toilet was broken - seat cracked, and it had come away from the floor and was propped up with a door stop, so when you sat down on it you had to be careful not to tip, and the sounds it made when it flushed were concerning. The carpets were really mucky too and there was a little space between the two bedrooms that could really have done with a chair or small sofa or something to sit on
