We were planning on staying for three nights but we’re disappointed with the property from the outset. In believe this property is a work in progress and seems to have been hastily renovated and in my opinion needs the issues we encountered resolved ASAP preferably before being rented out again. The Wifi network is a joke it’s just a cheap sim card GPRS router which is so slow you can’t use your phone on Wifi let alone stream TV to the supplied Firestick it simply doesn’t work. The bathroom is in general poor condition with poor tilling, mould and no pull cord on the bathroom light switch. The electric oven isn’t fitted properly it’s below the work surface which is a fire hazard. There was a full smelly bin out the back. We contacted the host in respect of the Wifi TV issue and he said it must be an intermittent problem but the property has a very low score !! So we decided to leave after one night and contacted the owner to requested a refund for the remaining two nights, we were told to vacate the property by 11am and would receive a refund via booking.com, we contacted customer services only to be told that we would be refunded for one night only as per the policy. Disappointed is an understatement.

It was clean

It was described as apartment when it is a 2 bed mid terraced house with the front room converted to a bedroom. Since my review the host has changed the description to “residence”, which is good as this was misleading as the property is not on one level and has steep stairs which maybe a problem for those with mobility issues. The property has three bedrooms for six people but the lounge only has a two seater settee to sit on and only a small dining room table with two chairs. There was only cutlery and crockery for 3 people. The advert stated there was WiFi but no code was provided so we all ended up using our own data. The advert also stated there was private car parking but it was street parking although this was always available, it didn’t feel secure and we made sure our belongings were removed at night for safety. The property was very basically furnished, but it was adequate. There was piled up mail in the hallway and a large TV box left in the kitchen. One side of the terraced house it was boarded up and there was a noisy neighbour the other side who shouted a lot. I was asked to let an engineer into the property for a gas safety check on the day of our departure. This was not right and should have been arranged after we had checked out. After giving feedback of all this on the site, the host messaged me directly and stated I have given a bad review because I wanted to party and this was not allowed, so I had made up lies. I was shocked to receive such a message which was very unprofessional and untrue. My observations were a true reflection of my experience and my stay was a work trip where I was up at 6 am each day, and so partying was certainly not on my agenda!

Stay here if you need a cheap, nearly central location and great for going to either a Liverpool or Everton game.

It was a good location in terms of distance to walk to parts of town, such as the football stadiums. The house was clean and a decent size space for four adults.

The neighbourhood wasn’t pleasant and the neighbours were not very welcoming of strangers. There was very limited facilities in the house such as mugs, crockery, pans etc. Only one room had a towel provided and it was rather run down, in need of some repairs.
