LLT kuweni palace and safari

The rooms are ok - though we had one next to the seating area...that can be a bit noisy. Staff in general was nice and attentive. Beds are fine and have nets. In front of the rooms are tables to sit and hang out - food is served here as well. Note that you have to walk a bit for a restaurant or such, otherwise you gotta eat there. Food was ok but really not great. The owner organised a pick up from the airport. And of course they organised the safari. Note for the safari that often the driver is sitting inside the jeep whereas you are on top of the jeep - so no chance to communicate a lot. If you can organsise a naturalist or guide, do it - this will cost extra. And make sure, they know what they talk about....ours was nice, but spoke about 10 words the whole day. all in all it is ok and does what it says on the tin. It is a mystery to me though where all the top ratings stem from - I wished I had booked somewehere else.

The bathrooom could have been cleaner. I am personally no fan of the Owner/Manager - seemed not friendly. Communication could be a bit tiring - you just would not get any information out of them as to what time dinner could/would be, departure times and such. The garden was ok but not the greatest spot to hang out. The Safari is well organised - but it is THE business there. Even though am sure it is less crowded than Yala and such, am not sure I would do it again (even though we saw elephants and a leopard). The drivers go around in quite a speed (not sure how they would spot anything, we spotted most wildlife) and without a guide in the back of the jeep with you, you have no chance to communicate.

LLT Wilpattu is a beautiful place to stay, set in the middle of a lovely garden full of birds – a peaceful and natural environment. The food was excellent, and the service was always warm and welcoming. The owner arranged a fantastic safari for us and even purchased the tickets online in advance, which saved us from waiting in a long queue at the park entrance (around 45 minutes). A special thanks goes to Raju, whose ever-present smile made our stay even more enjoyable.

We got a great deal in this hotel and had a very pleasant stay. Great, comfortable rooms, nice views and arranged a full day safari in the park of wilpattu.
