A disappointing stay unfortunately, but hoping for a better one on my next visit in a weeks time.
Good communication given between booking confirmation and arrival date, offering clear instructions for the parking areas, plus entry to the property and room location. The room is a good size, which offers plenty of space for hanging clothes etc. and has a comfortable bed, plus a good sized desk. The location is very peaceful and quite too.
I selected and booked the room for my 4 night stay which was listed as having a private bathroom, but unfortunately this was not to be the case. The private bathroom for my room was used multiple times by someone else and on one occasion the toilet had actually been left without being flushed after it's use, which is completely inexcusable and totally disgusting. The kitchen sink was also an issue, as it was constantly filled with dirty crockery, cutlery and other items of kitchen ware from preparing food. The room itself was constantly freezing cold throughout my stay upon arrival on the Sunday evening as there was no available heating and there was no hot water from the Monday evening after returning back from my working day. I appreciate that works started on the Monday daytime to install what appeared to be a new water tank/pump and some radiator upgrades, but to only be sent a message on the Sunday afternoon on the day I was travelling was ludicrous, as knowledge of these intended works must have been arranged well before the day of travel. No substitute heaters were offered or provided, which was thoughtless given the low temperatures we are currently experiencing. Look forward to a more favourable and enjoyable stay when I return for my second booking towards the end of the month while working locally, as the current upgrade works should hopefully be well completed by then.
