Oxford Central Studio 1

Nice bright studio. Modern. Well stocked for those staying a while including a washer/dryer and lots of kitchen tools/supplies. Nice breakfast bar. Appreciated all the hooks by the door. Sharon the host was very responsive.

Location - it is a good 20-25 minute walk into central Oxford. I had lovely sunny weather but it would be less charming in typical Oxford weather. Fan - The bathroom fan always comes on when you turn on the light and stays running for 20 minutes once shut off. This is a good system post shower but it comes on every time you turn on the light. Might be challenging if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night but don’t want to wake up your companion. The bathroom door doesn’t have a handle or lock so the sounds carries. Street Noise/Privacy - The flat is at ground level and so you have people walking by on the sidewalk directly in front of the unit and they can look right into the unit. I also heard people talking as they walked by and could hear every word. Not a busy street but there is foot traffic.

Such a stylish, bright little studio just outside the centre of Oxford. It was about a 25 minute walk into town, but with a bus stop right around the corner to get into town in 10 minutes. It wasn’t very clear if our stay would include towels and shower gel/shampoo/conditioner but when we arrived, we found out it did! I honestly couldn’t fault the place - it even had an air fryer! Thank you to the host for such a lovely experience :)

Easy to find Super clean Full kitchen

For Oxford, it is a relatively large space and the layout is good. It had all the different areas(kitchen, desk, bed etc) laid out.

Missing several small but important things to make it a good stay : 1) no press or filer or anything to make coffeee (Nescafé isn’t coffee); 2) no iron ( there is an ironing board but no iron) ; 3) beyond the water not working the actual temperature of the water oscillates between freezing and scalding making it really unpleasant to shower ; and 4) although I didn’t want to cook beyond breakfast, so wasn’t a major concern for me, there wasn’t any gear to cook with. There was a HOB but no pot or pan. Arrival instructions could be a bit clearer as well. Indicate that it is 59e and take the mystery out since there are two doors at the front. It may also help visitors like me that are unfamiliar with the type of door the room has to indicate that you have to turn the key and the knob at the same time.
