The Old Barn

Quiet and peaceful. Space to park car. Comfortable bed.

The property has 2 bedrooms - 1 double bed and 1 single bed, and can sleep 3 people. It is not advertised as such on booking.com

Lovely fully equipped vacation home just a short walk from the restaurants, sights, and shops of Tintagel. The large comfortable living room and on-site parking were nice features.

The barn was perfectly equipped, lovely welcome package.

Everything was exceptional, nothing to dislike.

The property is very pretty from the outside. Has a secure parking space out of sight of the road. It is a 10 minute walk from the main centre and very close to the bus stop which was handy for getting to and from start/end points of the SWCP. Inside is a large hallway, and a lounge with fantastic views towards the sea. A kitchen with lots of utensils and a washing machine. Also table and four chairs. There is also a single bedroom downstairs. Upstairs is a double bedroom with a large wardrobe ( almost too large/deep for the size of the room especially as to get to the right hand side of the bed you need to crouch because of the slope of the ceiling.). Small window with great views. Also a large bathroom with bath, and overhead shower. At night it is incredibly quiet and when no clouds you get a good view of the sunset/stars.

Unfortunately the property was not clean. At first glance it seemed fine. But then we noticed that the dust was thick on pretty much every surface- shelving, tables , skirting boards lampshades etc - that wasn’t just from the last stay it was from a long period in my opinion. Also the kitchen and bathroom taps and plug holes need much more attention than I would say they have ever been given. Along with the cooker and fridge- for example the fridge door opener was not nice. It’s a shame as the price was great and the property itself is lovely. But we would not stay again unless the cleaning was improved.
