Back at the house, spend the afternoon around the sunny private pool, grab a seat at the tiki bar, challenge someone to ping pong or foosball, or load up one of the beach carts and head right back to the sand.

A gas grill is available for cookouts, and the outdoor shower makes it easy to rinse off after a day on the sand.

The garage doubles as a game zone with ping pong, foosball, Pop-A-Shot basketball, and cornhole.
The mid-level den provides another place to hang out with a couch, TV, Pac-Man arcade game, puzzles, board games, and a wet bar with wine fridge.

A Shell of a Time provides an extensive collection of guest beach gear, including 2 beach carts, 15+ beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, beach mats, and an umbrella.
The closest handicap-accessible beach access is approximately 250 feet away—about a 1-minute walk.
KITCHEN, LIVING & DECKS
The top level is home to the main living space, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, island/breakfast bar with seating, and both drip and Keurig coffee makers.
Front and rear decks are located on both the mid and top levels. The rear decks offer rocking chairs and additional seating, the mid-level front deck has chairs with a low table, and the top-level front deck offers outdoor dining space.

POOL HEATING
Pool heating is optional, requires a 3-night minimum, and is available by request outside of Memorial Day through Labor Day. Please request heating at least 2 weeks prior to check-in. Weather and environmental conditions affect heating performance, and an exact water temperature cannot be guaranteed. Please contact the host/property manager prior to booking for additional information.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Age Requirement: Guests under 25 must receive pre-approval.
Smoke & Drug-Free Environment: All Pier 42 properties are smoke-free and drug-free. Smoking, vaping, and recreational drug use are prohibited.
Pet Policy: One pet may be considered with prior approval. Guests planning to bring a pet must notify the host/property manager prior to booking. Current rabies vaccination records, proof of flea and tick prevention, and a photo of the pet are required and must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.
Pets are not permitted on beds or in the swimming pool and must comply with applicable Ocean Isle Beach regulations regarding pets on the beach and leash requirements. Pets left unattended must be crated and may not be left outside. Guests are responsible for additional cleaning or repairs resulting from their pet. Unauthorized pets may result in additional charges. Trained service animals are permitted as required by applicable law.
Gas Grill: A gas grill is provided. Propane is not supplied. Guests may bring their own propane tank or, after booking, arrange propane delivery through available guest services.
Parking: Parking is available for up to 5 vehicles.

CANCELLATION POLICY
You may cancel any reservation and receive a full refund of all amounts paid excluding the "admin fee" (if applicable) if you notify Pier 42 Realty & Vacations in writing (by email or letter) of your intention to cancel the reservation at least sixty (60) days prior to the check-in date. In the event that you cancel your reservation within sixty (60) days of your check-in date, for any or no reason, (including the failure to pay the final payment due 60 days before the stay), including inclement weather, you shall not be eligible for a refund of any payments made to Pier 42 Realty & Vacation Rentals. Admin fees are non-refundable.

Beautiful home with plenty of room, well stocked kitchen ! Convenient to beach access which was a plus since we take a lot of beach games to play while on the beach. Our family had a wonderful week together at this house. Hope to do it again .

We had a wonderful time staying at A Shell of a Time! The house is in a great location! The beach access was practically across the street! With only a few short steps to the beach, the house included all of the beach chairs, coolers, and sand toys you will need! It is also a quick walk to all of the islands shops, restaurants, and activities. The inside of the house is beautifully decorated and very clean. Everything is brand new! It’s very well organized and has everything you will need. The pool and outdoor tiki bar are very relaxing. The refrigerator in the garage made it very accessible to get to our drinks while lounging poolside. The elevator also made it very convenient to get our luggage up two flight of stairs. We can’t wait for our next vacation at A Shell of a Time!
