A family hotel with a warm reception but with ice-cold walls
Everything looks and smells new. Everything is squeaky clean. The owners are responsive, nice, kind people trying to accommodate. The location was great for our purpose: we came there for one night to be able to attend the annual event nearby at the local equestrian base - and this was the only hotel in the village. The rest were in town, 10 km away. The mattresses were pleasantly firm. In the morning we were offered some tea or coffee even though the stay did not include any meal plan. All in al, this is a nice place to say in spring, summer and autumn.
There are no road signs helping travelers find the place. The furniture is super-budget even though the place is not: the price is high enough to expect much more. The worst part was the temperature indoors: there is no heating arrangement to keep the rooms warm in winter. You arrive, get a room and turn on the air conditioner - the sole source of warmth. The entire night you have to either run the AC - or sleep in a cold room. Imagine coming to spend the night in a building that was not heated for the entire winter - the walls are cold as ice. The owners consider this a normal arrangement for a one-star family hotel - but the price does not reflect it. My attempt to explain this to the owners was unsuccessful. They honestly do not understand that a properly-kept hotel cannot be left without heating in winter. This climate requires a heating arrangement that allows the building to be kept warm no matter whether there are guests today or not. Electric convectors turned on in the morning of the day of the guests' arrival could probably solve the problem - but apparently the owners are not considering this as an option. So as long as they do not change their approach to heating, I do not recommend to book it in winter months.
