Riverside Hotel

Modern, quiet and comfortable room.

The vending machine. I paid for a packet of biscuits and the delivery mechanism got stuck.

Secure parking, good beds, nice staff, communal dining/lounge area with a large kitchen where we could easily have our own meals and watch TV.

Our room faced the busy main road, which was quiet in the evening. The other side of the hotel would have been better.

Very clean. Had kitchen facilities in the communal area with a couple of microwaves, a fridge and crockery and cutlery. It is your responsibility to wash and clean up after yourself. There is also an area that you can sit down to eat. There is a vending machine that dispenses snacks but apart from that there is nowhere to buy food or drinks on site. There is a nice pub within a 100m though.

The shower pressure was a bit feeble but apart from that everything was great.

The hotel worked well for us as we were training nearby. We arrived late and managed to park in the rear car park, though we were confused by the instructions on how to get past the large black gates. Thankfully, someone else arrived with a fob, and we tailgated behind them. The hotel was clean, and the self-check-in via the key safes worked well (especially as we arrived late and didn't want to faff). The room was spacious and clean.

Overall, the stay was pleasant, but a few things would have made it more enjoyable. The parking arrangements and how to access the car park were confusing, and the TV was laughably small and on the other side of the room, so we couldn't really see it (especially any on-screen details). The main 'problem' was the shower and the shower pressure - the room had an electric shower which had very little pressure and an inconsistent temperature (there were instructions about using 'Eco' mode printed on the wall), after a day of travelling it was disappointing to have such a disappointing shower - I'd invite the hotel to consider upgrading the showers as soon as they can.
