The Garden Apt Hot Tub - Westbrook Bay Beach - By Goldex Coastal Breaks

The location for the beach was fantastic, it provided us with a great base for our holiday. The beds were comfortable and had all the things we needed. The hot tub was lovely and ready for our arrival.

A few things if I’m being picky - extra bedding for the sofa bed would have been good - some of the garden furniture was a little tired - the shower was a lovely pressure but I couldn’t turn it down anymore which was ok for the adults but a little hot for the kids

The property was clean, easy to access and in a great location for dreamland, the beach and the main town. The sofa bed was useful as the rooms were warm and so we were able to sleep separately to avoid being too hot at night.

We cancelled other accommodation last minute and booked this because l, as the name suggests, it had a hot tub (which is described as its standout feature)! Having had 8 messages about the hot tub rules and regulations in the 48 hours prior to our stay, we arrived to find no water in it. When we contacted the owners we were told ‘oh that hot tub doesn’t work…we were hoping to get it fixed’. Nobody had told us. They suggested an engineer had been in that morning so it was late notice, however, the debris on top of the hot tub cover would suggest otherwise. This stay was for a 50th birthday and a visit to an event at Dreamland so whilst we were able to thoroughly enjoy ourselves still, this really put a dampener on things and meant we spent a lot of time trying to get a resolution. We were offered 25% refund for the missing ‘standout feature’ but eventually managed to haggle to 35% refund which we were under the impression we would receive whilst there so we could utilise our money to make up for the missing hot tub! The money did not appear in my bank until 24hrs after we had left the accommodation and only 30% has been returned to me. Despite a lovely apartment (by the way, the toilet seat doesn’t fit properly) and great setting, a fantastic weekend and brilliant weather, as the organiser I was left feeling a bit deflated and angry at the whole situation. A real shame!
