Fleckvieh Guest Farm

The location of this property is wonderful for nature lovers, it was very peaceful and safe. The cabin is very homely and contained everything you need. One should note that the toilet and shower is in a separate cubicle outside the cabin.

There was no-one at reception when we arrived and it wasn't so easy for us to contact the owner (due to our own phone limits), however, once we could get a message to the owner, she came immediately.

Great for an overnight spot.

this is a really special glamping accommodation in the middle of nowhere- sitting in the wood fired hot tub nestled into the forest, watching the moon over the hills and listening to the frogs, ducks and monkeys making noises in the river was just incredible. super comfy room. great braaii, plenty of space for a family of 4. The room has a ceiling fan and a hot shower and it was just so awesome to stay there- will have to come back next time we are in the area.

My only complaint was in communications- it would have been good to know how late someone would be available to check us in, and that the hot tub was wood fired not electric and that we should have stopped at a store on the way to lay in provisions as the room does not come with things like salt and pepper or what have you. Also it seemed a little annoying that they charge an extra $30 for the hot tub but then don't tell you it's wood fired and don't provide wood- you have to buy the wood. None of this ruined the wonderful experience, just would have been good to know ahead of time. also- just a word of advise: either charge more for the hot tub and include the wood, or eat the cost but don't charge both for the tub and for the wood. it looks bad. Lastly- as we were leaving we saw a family of ostriches and some springbok just hanging out- we would have loved to know more about the farm and what animals they have to learn more about them. It may be that all of these complaints would have been obvious to a local, but for an american these were all surprises!
