Cute shepherds hut close to Lyme Regis

We liked the fire pit being available for use. Although it’s quite close to town it did feel like you were in the woods. Distance to town is about 25mins walk with a young kid. You can walk along the river which is beautiful. Firewood and marshmallows provided.

The heater was very difficult to operate. It took us a few chilly hours but we got there in the end. Limited ventilation for cooking and no toaster.

Idillic and charming abode with lots of character!

The place felt very remote and isolated although being so close to Lyme Regis. The aesthetic and general decor of the cabin was exceptional and very well done, it was comfortable and convenient. The added bonus of a log fire and toasting marshmallows, although we didn’t use, adds to the charm and small thought out details of the stay. It was our first time coming to Dorset and we will most certainly be coming back and staying here again!

Not an issue but as it’s close to the road you can hear some traffic at night.

Good private location close to owner of thr hut and regional activities. Facilities in the hut were of good quality and it was well equipped. Walked into town and to local beaches. Would visit again.

A perfect get away with the family

It was super cosy and warm. We had everything we needed for our stay. It was cleverly designed with limited space, with a luxurious feel. Loved the bathroom.

As we stayed for seven days, The composting toilet could of been emptied a bit more frequently.

Quiet, private setting. Cosy accommodation. Clean. Good mattress.

No outdoor seats except picnic bench. The compost toilet was malodorous. Shower did not operate consistently, a few times there was an error light and only cold water. No reply to messages sent to the mobile number given. No welcome pack. Inadequate lighting.

Lovely hut, very clean, garden area perfect for the dogs and not too far to walk down to the main town.

Nothing we didn’t like but maybe a covered decking area coming out from the hut would make this exceptional in our opinion.

Happy stay

Our stay here was just magic! We just loved everything about it! Despite the fact that the accommodation was quite close to the road, it was completely tranquil and peaceful.

Delightful

The hut felt remote as it was in its own little forest clearing, loads of birds and a lovely place to sit outside and have breakfast. The host was really helpful and had provided a little cake and some chocolate eggs for my daughter who had her birthday- she was delighted with the surprise! Also there was washing up liquid oil tea coffee and the host had provided some milk and pasta which was really generous. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and the marshmallow toasted forks and wood was all provided. The beds were really comfortable, and it was very clean. It felt remote but wasn’t a very long walk to the middle of Lyme Regis. I loved the setting and the privacy, and the hut was finished to a very high standard.

Wonderful

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Shepherd's Hut and had a wonderful weekend in Lyme Regis. It was well-located in its own private area and very thoughtfully appointed with lovely additional touches like a pint of milk in the fridge along with tea and coffee, marshmallows for the fire pit etc. We loved the suggestions for places to eat, visit and the walk down the river into Lyme Regis. Communication with the owners was excellent but they also have gave us absolute privacy which made for an incredibly relaxing stay.

Schöne kleine Hütte.

Wenn man mit wenig auskommen kann, dann ist das hier genau das richtige. Mit Kindern oder ohne. Bis zum Strand sind es ca. 10-15 Minuten mit dem Auto.

Zweites Kinderbett war nicht vorhanden. Nur eine Sonnenliege, die wir umfunktioniert haben. Sonnenliege befand sich unter der kleine Couch (siehe Foto). Aber alles easy.
