Gorgeous little property!

Overall a gorgeous, comfortable, clean cottage in a great location from which to explore Lyme Regis and the surrounding countryside and towns (make sure you visit the Symondsbury Estate for a cuppa and cake at the cafe, and wander along the famous, sunken Shute’s Lane!). A big thank you to the owner for his excellent communication, and also to Pat who helped us with the keys and nearby parking.

We couldn’t get the WiFi to work. It was a little tricky as I had two teenagers with me - but we had a lovely time regardless! I’d say that it might not be ideal if you are seeking 100% solitude, as there were ‘neighbours’ sharing the garden, coming and going etc. (They were very nice people and it was fun getting to know them.)

Super cottage and weather made our stay!

We rang pat on arrival in Lyme Regis and collected the keys from her. Once we'd unloaded our car we were able to park our car outside her house which proved to be a brilliant solution as parking is a nightmare. It was an easy walk, alongside the river, down to the town centre. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with sunshine every day meaning Lyme was at it's best.

Location is great for accessing the town and beach. Very pretty spot with a lovely shared garden. Fully enclosed for pets/children.

Bathroom might be cold in winter as not double glazed. No on-site parking.

Fabulous place for a holiday.

Lovely cottage, had everything I needed for a weeks holiday. Really comfy bed and lovely bed linen and towels. Perfect location, close to town, quiet and secluded.

Delightful stay in a lovely area.

Lovely location. Tastefully modernised property. Good wifi, TV etc. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed.

Downstairs bathroom and steep stairs are not ideal for an elderly couple, but are the necessary compromise in a lovely old cottage. Parking is a problem. A neighbouring property has a residents permit for Anning Road. Would this be feasible?

A comfortable cottage in a great location

The location was excellent, a lovely walk into Lyme Regis along the river Lim. The house was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed.

Parking was an issue, but I knew that it would be in Lyme Regis. I used Holmbush long stay car park which was £10 per day.

Location of property was excellent. Easy walking distance to town and beech. Ideal. Pretty surroundings . Well recommended position. Property homely and had all amenities required. Pleasant bedrooms with a comfortable bed . Enough storage. Good functioning shower. Good WiFi. Overall very comfortable relaxing stay.

Minor issues only . Needs a new cord to shower switch ( I am only 5ft and needed a chair to reach the switch). Mirrors set to high in bathroom, I could only see the top of my head !! The electric kettle was not working and we purchased one from local hardware shop. I did report this to the Keyholder . The cooker could be updated as showing its age although fully working. Finally UPVC window in kitchen frosted , making appearance look tired.

It was quiet, clean, cosy and perfect for a few days unwinding by the sea. The cottage is in a great location, just a short walk into town along the river. It seems to be one of the only places in town that isn’t up a super steep hill too.

The parking. Off season it was ok most of the time, but don’t expect to park near the property.

The location was perfect for us. The enclosed shared garden was lovely and the facility of parking outside a nearby house was unexpected and really convenient.

Exceptional

Perfect positioning for town and in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood. Superbly furnished and with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Kitchen well-stocked. Easy to contact and very helpful host. Super shower with a great additional touch of a wall heater in the bathroom, so you can let the steam out and still stay warm. Lots of local information available. I could very happily live here.

Really recommend this lovely cottage in a great location!

The cottage is lovely, with all that we needed. The location is fantastic, being ten minutes walk from the town and beach, alongside a pretty stream. It has a beautiful quiet walled garden, shared with the other cottages, which makes a great place to eat and relax. We took our two boys (14 and 9) and they loved it. We parked in a long stay car park ten minutes away, and although we explored some beaches further afield you really could manage without a car here. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a lovely relaxing break, we were lucky because the weather was so good.

The location of the cottage is brilliant, near enough to the sea front but away from the hustle and bustle especially over the bank holiday, a lovely oasis to come back to. The garden is enclosed and lovely, it is shared with the other cottages but everyone was very friendly and respectful of each other. The upstairs of the cottage is nice with great views from the bedrooms of the garden and the river. The cottage is very reasonably priced for its location.

The cottage wasn't as clean as I would have liked, I am not sure if this is unusual as the previous reviews said it was spotlessly clean. The kitchen and bathroom were clean but it was pretty dusty in places and needed a better hoover downstairs and in the bedrooms. There wasnt a hoover in the cottage so it was hard to keep the carpet in the sitting room clean with only a brush. This wouldn't stop me staying there again as it was a lovely place to be and maybe the cleaner was having a bad day.

Disappointed

The location was excellent, very quiet and pretty. Very quiet cottage and cosy. Very close to the town and beach, the cottage was very well equipped.

On arrival we had to collect the keys from a lady, who didn’t answer the door for ages because she did not know we were coming . The cottage was very dirty, I had to clean the kitchen floor and bathroom before I allowed my 3 year old daughter anywhere near. The carpet on the lounge clearly had not been cleaned or surfaces dusted. The bedrooms were dusty and full of cobwebs, the bedding smelt damp. We were very disappointed because this was our first break all year , we have worked through lockdown and wanted to destress. I’m aware you get what you pay for but basic hygiene in a covid pandemic is very important. If we could afford it we would have gone elsewhere and if it was a hotel we would have demanded to move rooms.
