Riad Symba Exclusive with New Heated Pool and Breakfast Included

O riad é um verdadeiro oásis de paz no meio da agitação de Marraquexe: impecavelmente limpo, acolhedor, com quartos muito confortáveis, excelente ligação à internet e um ar condicionado perfeito, indispensável nos dias mais quentes. A pequena piscina é um autêntico tesouro, ideal para relaxar depois de um dia a descobrir a cidade. No entanto, aquilo que torna este riad verdadeiramente único não são apenas as instalações, mas as pessoas. E, em especial, a Rashida. É impossível falar da nossa experiência sem lhe dedicar um agradecimento muito especial. Recebeu-nos sempre com um sorriso, tratou-nos com um carinho genuíno e fez-nos sentir parte da sua família. Todas as manhãs preparava pequenos-almoços maravilhosos, frescos, variados e feitos com amor. Mais do que servir refeições, oferecia-nos momentos de partilha, atenção e uma hospitalidade rara, daquelas que não se esquecem. Saímos de Marraquexe com a sensação de termos encontrado muito mais do que um sítio para dormir. Encontrámos um lugar onde fomos verdadeiramente bem recebidos e uma pessoa que ficará para sempre na nossa memória. Obrigado, Rashida, por tornar a nossa viagem tão especial. Voltaremos, sem qualquer dúvida, e recomendamos o Riad Symba a todos os que procuram uma experiência autêntica, confortável e inesquecível. Merece muito mais do que cinco estrelas.

A quelques minutes à pieds de la place jemaa el fna, et du palais baya, quartier calme et à proximité du palais du Roi, nous avons passé un agréable séjour.

Didn’t have any outdoor spaces. The new heated pool took too long to heat and even then was only like warm.

We have just returned from a 3-night stay in the riad. The riad itself is beautifully decorated with three en-suite rooms. The ‘pool’ is a plunge pool which is not heated. Since it isn’t in the sun, even in 33 degrees it was too cold to use, so we ended up not going in. The rooftop terrace is a good addition, and we spent a lot of time out there. Location-wise, it’s within the walls of the Medina, about a 15-minute walk from the main square, which we didn’t mind—it was calmer and away from the hustle and bustle. The riad is beside a palace that’s guarded, which made the area feel safer. The lady who came in to make us breakfast was lovely and polite, and the breakfast itself was traditional Moroccan and very tasty.

Our main issue with the property was the communication with the hosts. After booking, we were advised to send over a WhatsApp number so we could be messaged with the details and location of the riad the day before arrival. I messaged the riad a week before our trip with my number and also requested an airport transfer. The day before arrival, I still hadn’t received any messages on WhatsApp. I practically had to beg them to communicate with me on the day we were flying. Eventually, I was added into a group chat and sent a dropped pin with a location to meet them—but there was no mention of the transfer, and at that stage, we were about to board our flight so I didn’t push it. When we arrived at the pinned location, no one was there to meet us. We called the number provided—no answer. Eventually, a local (who we had to pay) helped us find the riad. When we arrived, the two young men who were supposed to meet us were lying on the rooftop terrace and clearly hadn’t bothered to come meet us. We had no further communication from the hosts throughout the entire stay. I had also asked if it was possible to leave our bags at the riad after check-out—no one responded. At check-out time, a different man arrived, seemingly just to make sure we left. After speaking with others on our trip, it was clear there are many other riads that are much more welcoming and helpful. Marrakech is like a maze, and the riad could definitely do more to offer proper guidance and directions. The location is down narrow streets—which we had no issue with. Yes, it can feel intimidating, and there were men standing on street corners, but we were a group of four women and no one interacted with us. In summary, reconsider booking this place. We have travelled to many countries in the world, and never have we encountered people running accommodation as unresponsive and unhelpful.
