Very cute cottage in a great location. Loved the coziness of the fireplace in winter. It’s well equipped and very clean. The heating works very well. The service reads great!
Most of the kitchen equipment and other facilities are a bit dated and could do with modernisation. The beds are very small and wobbly.

It felt very cozy, and was in a great location. A very easy walk into the centre of town! We loved the atrium and the overall feel of the cottage.
We arrived at night and would have appreciated clear instructions on how to find the property, as it took us half an hour in the dark to find. We had to ask at the local pub and wander around in the cold with our phone lights to find it. It was specific in turning left at the pub, but it would have been easy to advise to turn right down the lane and it’s the last cottage on the left. It’s not well lit so it was quite stressful and no one replied when we asked for help.

Location was excellent and the cottage was warm and cosy when we arrived. It was clean throughout and the beds were really comfortable. Towels were plentiful and the heating was easily controllable. It was also in a really quiet location.
The parking is a bit tight for a large car. The shower was situated against a sloping ceiling so it rather means showering at an interesting angle. However, the shower was strong...lovely.

Its proximity to the town and that you can walk there really easy.
On arrival the first impression was a very old and dirty front door and mat, which became a sign of things to come once inside.
The smell of damp and dust hit you as the door opened into the house. The first job was to open all the windows and back door as the smell was really overpowering.
General house keeping was beyond poor and we took plenty of photo evidence. Blood stained bedding, unkept carpets and under beds disgusting and a news paper dated 2016 further evidences that the beds are not moved and are old. This might explain further a very unsettled sleep pattern. The main bedroom smelt of cats, damp and the wall paper was pealing off, the second bedroom was also in the same sorry state minus blood stained bedding.
Moving to the bathroom a faulty shower with the cable broken and unable to have any temperature between boiling hot or freezing cold. The sink was also poor as the taps moved as soon as you tired to turn them on, followed by a loud pressure release so difficult to use without holding to tap in position. I have a on going physical impairment that makes using my hands difficult, so this was a nightmare.
The airing cupboard was filthy and a thrown away Xmas tree was on top of bedding and clearly showed how unloved this place is.
On going downstairs it was like a gift that kept giving. The sofa was so old you constantly had to readjust the pillows. Underneath was a feast for any mouse of previous guests food and general dirty. The walls were significantly damp and this was an issue for the whole time as the smell was awful and so unhealthy that we had no choice but to leave doors and windows open. The wallpaper was hanging off and also showed damp in every room but mostly in the lounge.
In the kitchen there was nothing that matched and was like the crockery had be bought from a jumble sale. The grill did not work so not able to use. The hob was rusty and clearly very old.

Location was excellent to walk into the village and parking is a big plus also. Very quaint and peaceful.
The second bed has a hard mattress and a topper would sort this issue…low ceilings at points to be aware of but then I’m over 6ft so more my issue!!

Private, cosy, beautiful little cottage with everything we needed, great location, perfect little getaway.
Everything was great, only thing we’d say is the pillows were a bit hard for our liking.

We liked the location however it wasn’t the easiest to find at first but it was a good location overall. The beds were comfortable and overall it was suffice. Its location was probably the most desirable part.
I didn’t like the fact that there is no range hood fan - the first night we had spaghetti and between the steam from the water boiling and the frying of the mushrooms and onions it filled the room full of smoke we had to open the windows and the doors to get it all out. This happens quite a few times that had to open everything up when a simple fan would have made all the difference. Also they had no ladle for soup. When we built a fire in the fireplace we had no idea where to get more wood and it looks like it hasn’t been used in ages because of the fact there were spider webs all across the screen and there was also no where else to find wood for other fires. The last thing I’ll say we didn’t like was the fact that we had to throw out perfectly good potatoes, bananas, and onions and other things that were staples because we couldn’t leave them there for others to use and even if someone didn’t come in right away to rent the place maybe there could be a box to put all the left over food in and it could be taken to a food bank that the house cleaner could come in and take or donate to a family that could use it. We did leave olive oil and cans of beans and a package of oatmeal that was never opened. I felt super bad about having to throw out those things when there are so many hungry people out there.

Great access to the village, just a 5 minute walk into the centre. The cottage was warm and cosy. Crisp linen and towels.
A little dated, shower above the bath was fine but if you are over 5ft5in you couldn’t stand up straight.
Vehicle access to the property was awkward but manageable. Path into property covered in moss/mud so had to be careful not to take mud into cottage.
