Joe & Mary's Comfy homestay room

Everything on the booking pages were accurate and should meet everyone’s expectations. The room was spacious and clean, beds were comfortable and our room had a great sunroom attached to the bedroom by a sliding door where you could have breakfast overlooking the garden and some comfortable benches to sit on. The bathrooms were cleans and a whole host of shampoos and body washes to suit everyone make or female. The kitchen www great and we made good use of it at breakfast time and at night. There were breakfasts supplied if you didn’t have any (we did and left out unused for the next guests). There was also tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We also used the washer and dryer which is great to have when you are on a road trip and need to wash clothes. Parking right out front was also very convenient. We found it also good that you are only sharing with a maximum of one other room. We only had to share on one of our nights and even then we didn’t see them (see below). The locations was good for Motorway into city and also not far to the big Westfield mall for shopping and entertainment. Mt Eden is also not far to visit and the village there has good cafes and restaurants.

We didn’t enjoy the other party who booked in very late on our 2nd night (22.30). They were also up very early at 6am and again made a lot of noise. Despite having been told a family was in bed. I think Joe and Mary will have 2nd thoughts about accepting these bookings again as it was disrespectful. I think they wanted the room for “other” XX adult purposes 😩

Most impressed, I highly recommend this place to stay and would happily stay for more than a night for a holiday in Auckland. Central to everything and public transport! Instructions were clear with name on the door and parking outside. A clean bathroom, kitchen nook with complimentary breakfast and lovely warm room with comfy bed and nice linen. What made it special was the private conservatory with table and chairs and seated area. So very spacious!

There wasn’t anything you could complain about. It was perfect!

At booking-stage, the photos and instructions were super helpful and coms with the hosts was very prompt. The room was lovely with plenty of space, beautiful decor, room comforts (towels, lamps, fan, large block-out curtains etc), and a lock-and-key on the door for privacy and safety. A separate toilet and large bathroom with supplies was close and convenient to my room. Entrance/kitchen/laundry was also great and had lovely inclusions for breakfast and easy clean-up. Super easy self check-in/out too. Fabulous stay indeed. Highly recommend.

Didn't bother me too much as I can reverse-drive and park but the driveway is a little lengthy, narrow and bends around. You can't drive down there and turn, so reverse is a given. Myself and the other person staying have med size cars so it was a abit of a squeeze but possible to fit if both drivers leave sufficient space. Definitely not suitable for large and long vehicles like work utes.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home right away. The amenities were excellent and thoughtfully provided, and everything was spotlessly clean — truly impeccable. Highly recommended!
