Gloria Suite Catania

My stay in Catania was defined by an absolutely unbeatable location. You truly could not ask for better access, as the apartment is situated right next to the Duomo and the famous fish market. All the other popular sites, including San Berillo, Piazza Stesicoro, Teatro Massimo Bellini, and Porta Garibaldi, are easily within walking distance. While the area is a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), there are convenient parking garages just a few hundred meters away. The host, Isabella, was extremely responsive and supportive. She remotely guided us through the check-in process and checked in daily to see if we needed anything, ensuring a smooth stay. The apartment itself is great and very spacious, featuring a living room on the main floor and a bedroom accessible via a few steps above. The apartment was thoughtfully stocked with a variety of groceries and everyday items, all very reasonably priced, which was a huge convenience. Furthermore, stepping out the front door immediately puts you amongst numerous restaurants, pizzerias, and mini-markets.

On the downside, as this is the primary tourist hub of Catania, the location does come with some noise. The area, particularly the living room which sits directly above a restaurant, can be noisy during the evening hours. To filter out the noise, you do need to keep the windows shut. Overall, despite the evening buzz, this is an absolutely great place to stay.

Great location right in the center of town with lots of restaurants. Apartment was spacious. We had all amenities that we needed. Great WiFi.

The bed was very firm. Too firm. Shower is tiny. Bedroom is upstairs and bathroom is downstairs so it’s challenging to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and navigate the narrow staircase.

Could not believe how ease it was to park and walk to unit! We are mid 70’s walk with canes and we were in unit in 10 minutes!!!!! Location perfect! Walked 12,000 steps everyday! Took taxi located next to duomo to roof top bar for drinks and dinner and views of etna.

No views from window but we left room by 7am each day! Safe on 2nd floor.
