The Fountain Lodge

I am Bias to this location and the whole set up, as I've stayed before and found it to be perfect for my and my partners needs. we Mountain bike and the location is great. you can cycle to the cycle center or go on the paths in the forest. There is a shed at the side of the building for bikes which has two ground ankers and is alarmed and a good lock. Although it is independant from the pub in terms of booking it's run by the family who own the pub which is a great place in its self. There is a restaurant in the pub which you have to book seperatly to get a table. ( it Can get busy ).

Great size and loved having two ensuites. Well kitted out for self-catering accommodation. If we had been there in the lighter/warmer months, sure, we would have used the extensive patio area.

Tiny sinks in ensuites, not practical for cleaning your teeth, and the small bath towels.

Beautiful lodge in a great location, we had a lovely holiday.

The sinks in the ensuites were too small.

It’s a perfect base to explore the Forest of Dean or just a place to chill. It’s owned by the pub and the staff there are fantastic.
