Historic Pike House with Beautiful Garden

We had a lovely stay. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The garden is also beautiful. The house is exceptionally well equipped, there was everything that we could possibly need. The host was also very generous and left welcome food and drink.

We loved everything about the property, it is in a lovely location. There was some traffic noise as the house is located on the roadside but other than that it was perfect.

Pike House is a unique place to stay. The internal decor, designed by the artist owner, is filled with colour and quirky pottery. The house had everything needed for self-catering, and the owner left a very generous welcome package. The kitchen was stocked with incidentals to enhance the stay, including marshmallows for adding to the hot chocolate. The sofas and beds were very comfortable. The garden is spacious, with a variety of seating area, several shrubberies and it backs onto woodland. Across the road are paths leading to RSPB Nags Head. Mary Rose was responsive to messages and very helpful. We will definitely stay again!

The only negative was that the cottage sits on a corner where two roads meet, so some road noise is to be expected. While the roads are not major ones, during the day there is enough traffic that noise is noticeable. At night, the road is quiet.

I would stay longer

This is a very bright, colourful and quirky home with lots of character. There was milk, tea, coffee, jams and prosecco waiting for us, along with the heating on, which was all very thoughtful. There are two living rooms, a well equipped and spacious kitchen and three bathrooms. The garden is lovely, just a shame we didn't have time to enjoy it.

There isn't much not to like. It is a lovely home with lots of character. My only two suggestions would be for a door to be fitted to the smaller of the two living rooms and a a shower unit to be installed in the main bathroom upstairs.
