We travelled down for a 2 night mini break and were looking for tranquility, peace, relaxation and a bit of adventure and found all of the above at Great Links Yurt.
On the first night, we purchased a bbq bundle from Julia, the hostess, and in it came burgers, sausages, aga baked potatoes, salad and buns. It was delightful and an exceptional treat which we thoroughly enjoyed cooking out in open air.
We also opted to pay for use of the wood-fired hot tub which when we got it going was wonderful. The views are far reaching and coming from a city, we have never experienced peace like it.
The yurt itself is cosy, well equipped and homely. We both love the outdoors but not quite enough to commit to ‘proper’ camping and this was a very nice middle ground (with a large and exceedingly comfy bed) with the option to cook on the fire and enjoy the outdoors space whilst also having the basic creature comforts like bedding, carpet and a hot shower / toilet that you need not share with strangers!
Finally, Julia is a lovely hostess who you can tell cares about your stay. We found her to be very helpful, friendly and easily available should there have been any problems - which there were not.
A truly lovely stay and we look forward to returning.
