Basic room for a cheap price

Central location and great value for money.

It was not the cleanest place I have stayed and there was a bit of noise from neighbours at night.

Don't recommend

- Good location - Small fridge in the room - Locker (however you need to deposit 50 in cash for the key - I was not told it was a deposit while paying, just knew from seeing someone else getting it back)

- My card was charged twice and after more than a month I’m still trying to get a refund for the second payment, although they said it was cancelled while I was there. - In general, confusion about payment and tours, e.g. not clear about if payment needs to be in cash (got told different things by staff), and had an issue with my transfer to Rio. - There was loud music right outside of the room most of the first night. - The lack of power outlets in the room; the one that was centrally placed didn’t work.

Great place to stay for a few nights

Great location, comfortable dorm bed, has 2 small kitchens you can use and a restaurant - the Argentinian empanadas were absolutely delicious.

kitchen wasn’t fully equipped, showers kinda dirty but we just wore flip flops, the bathroom near us had to sit on it sideways as the door is so close to your knees lol. We think many people come here for a holiday to escape other parts of Brazil, everyone we met here and in our room were form Brazil, meaning they were partying every night and waking us up when they came in, but for a dorm I guess it’s normal to experience this

Great hostel to stay ilha grande but not quiet

Good price. Private Room is good. Nice forest view. Location is convenient 5 minutes walk to the jetty 1 minute from shops. Kitchen to use with fridge, pots, boiler … They have Lonely Planet.

Loud music almost everyday until midnight from the bar. Mosqitoes.

No where to dry your bikinis

I saw 1-2 staff working very hard every morning to do cleaning. They washed the bins from the toilet inside out. Also every corner of the public area. The bathrooms were normally very clean. Shower very strong. I had a live band playing next to me while I was taking a shower.

Everyone spoke German. Aircon inside the bedroom was not on until very late. Very hot. When a lot of backpackers, there were backpacks and stuff all over the floor inside the bedroom. Obviously not enough storage for guests. There was only a small rack for drying wet clothes. How can they expect an island with so many beaches guests don't have any swimming wear and towels to dry? No where to even dry my tiny little bikinis.

Decent stay but wouldn’t stay again.

It was in a good location! Hammocks were nice for chilling! Staff were helpful!

It’s very loud. It wasn’t even as if we wanted to go to sleep early but it’s just that in the dorms you can hear everything going on in all of the common areas of the hostel. It was loud until the early hours and then again early in the morning so it was tough to get any sleep.

I had a food poisoning on the day of my check-put. I spent the day lying on the sofa in the common area. Rooms were clean. the kitchen had all the basic stuff. big lockers

they put ac on at 10pm so the floor in the rooms doesn't dry before that

I stayed in the girl's dorm, really nice and spacious!

The glass door to the room leads straight to the loud bar so dont hope for an early rest; Breakfast is poor, almost non existent, dirty silverware and mugs; Staff barely speaks portuguese eventhough they are in brazil

ok, a lot to improve

Nice location, cool live bands at night.

The rooms and the bathroom are very dirty, full of rubbish from previous guests. Uncorfortable mattress and pillow, no privacy at all.. no curtains and very small room. Also very noisy. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm near the breakfast place and very early in the morning they would open a rolling door and I believe that the whole island would wake up from the door noise. Not all the plugs in the room work.

The Hostel was in a good Location in Abraão. There is a supermarket next to it and a bakery around the corner. The harbor where you arrive with the ferry is only a five-minute walk away, so it's easy to reach when arriving with your backpack. The staff is very friendly. I had a great time at this place!

The staff is friendly and helpful. The hostel has a nice vibe and sometimes they organise cool evenings with live music. The rooms were also spacious and clean. The hostel can furthermore help you with tours and transfers from and to Rio de Janeiro which was quite convenient.

The beds were comfy but moved a lot and where sometimes really close to each other in the case of bed bunks.

Loved it, felt secure, felt safe, comfortable staying alone.

This is one of those rare gems that looks better than the photos! Mainly female staff were so friendly and happy to answer questions. Stayed in the 4 bed girls dorm at the front - if you plan on early nights then maybe not the best choice for you, but once music stops around 11pm, I passed out in the comfy bed. You'll need to sleep with the air con on and grab a fleecy blanket. Shared bathroom was really clean. In fact, the whole place was truly clean. Free welcome drink, also just a really welcoming space. I was pleased to turn up here. Wi fi was good enough to make a whatsapp call back to England for a long chat. Felt very safe walking back late at night, it's right in the middle of everything on the main track through the island but away from the drag of busier restaurants. If you're alone and wary, thought there are many lovely places to stay tucked away up alleyways in the direction of the mountains, this is a better option given its proximity to everything and ease of getting to :)

Did have a slight issue with lack of hot water but travelling through Brazil, I think what us English call hot water is hard to come by!
