The hotel is a nice old building

I could hear all the noise in the hallway and also the outside, street noise. The bed had a canopy and above it there was a fan that turned on when the light was on. Because of the bed canopy, I could not reach the fan’s pull cord to shut it off. It was cold in the room and the fan made it worse. There was no way to turn the heat on but there was a space heater in the room. Unfortunately, the heater did not work. There is no reception and it is confusing on how to get in. I spent at least 30 min to locate someone and to get in. Apparently, someone should have called me to give me directions prior to my arrival but nobody did. Breakfast starts too late, 8:00 - 9:00 am and I was told that it will be great. For business trip guests this timing is late. I stayed until 8:40 am and explained at the beginning that I need to leave earlier to my appointment. What I was served (coffee, juice, small cold soup and a little omelet) cannot be considered great cooked breakfast. As there is no receptionist, I did not get my invoice when I left (needed for business trips expense reports). I had to call for two weeks, almost every day to finally get the invoice emailed to me. The stay for one night (including taxes) was $196. I feel the price was too high for what it offered.

UPS Freight flight path is directly over the Dupont Mansion, you will not sleep!

Love the old woodwork per period

We were never made aware of the UPS Freight flight path that was directly over the DuPont Mansion. On Friday night, starting a 11:30pm, UPS Freight planes started flying over the Dupont Mansion every 2-3 minutes (had my stop watch) and landing on the airfield behind the Mansion (see google earth). This continued until 1:30 am, Again every 2-3 minutes! I was so bad that night, we decided to leave the property and not stay the second night. I went ahead and booked a room in another hotel. I am totally convinced that the property owners know about this situation and don't disclose it. Will be discussing with legal counsel.

A step into the past with all the modern comforts.

Tastefully restored Victorian home with authentic period furnishings throughout. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms and beds. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make us comfortable and to share their knowledge of the history of the home and area.

Some noise from overhead planes approaching and leaving nearby airport.
