Santuario Ecologico Monteverde

Wir haben ein paar Nächte im Santuario Ecologico Monteverde verbracht und es war sehr schön dort. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von der Familie Salazar empfangen. Man hat einen guten authentischen Einblick in das Leben vor Ort und viele tolle Tipps für Ausflüge bekommen. Durften sogar an einer Movienight teilnehmen. Frühstück war super lecker und wurde frisch für uns zubereitet. Der Kaffee war exzellent! Es gab direkt im Garten viele Trails und wir haben einige Tiere gesehen. So kommen hin und wieder Affen zum trinken vorbei. Die Lage ist ideal, weil etwas am Rande des Ortes und damit ruhiger. Trotzdem sind die Restaurants nur ein paar hundert Meter weit entfernt. Wer eine Unterkunft mit familiärem Touch sucht, die sich um den Erhalt der Umwelt kümmert, ist hier richtig aufgehoben. Danke an das komplette Team für die schönen Tage.

Very welcoming and beautiful trails. The night walk and cooking experience was excellent

Not a big deal, but could use outlets and lamps by the bed

The family are lovely and care a lot about the environment, the property is surrounded by rainforest. The communal kitchen has lots of character. Santa Elena was very busy so it was nice to get away from the crowds and stay somewhere quiet. The trails on site are great, we saw lots of wildlife. During the day we saw white-faced capuchins and we also did a night walk on the property with a local guide they sorted out for us, who is very knowledgeable. We saw sleeping birds, frogs, a cool moth which we are struggling to identify and a tarantula.

Just a heads up that there is no hairdryer which is stated under the facilities, wasn't really an issue though in the end. Also worth mentioning that you ideally need a 4x4 to get there, when it rains the road gets muddy and you would struggle in a normal car.
