TucanTico Lodge was exactly what we needed for our two nights in Monteverde mid-way through our trip. The cabin was very comfortable, well appointed and we really appreciated the ability to do laundry! We were in Cabin 1 which was a one bedroom cabin with a queen bed and a futon in the living room. We enjoyed watching the birds feasting on the flowers in the garden and enjoyed the howler monkeys as they went by nearby trees. The large (hot water) shower was great! While we didn't use much of the kitchen other than the coffee maker and fridge/freezer, it appeared to be well appointed for those wanting to cook more meals and eat out less. Location was great and close to good restaurants, all of the key Nature Parks but away from the craziness of being in the town of Santa Elena. We enjoyed Curi Chancha Reserve for an early AM guided birdwatching hike, Finca Lantana for a Night walk and a stop at the Butterfly Gardens in the afternoon which was very informative! All were close to the accommodations. Recommended restaurants within short walking distance are Nativo, Restaurante Thomas & Thiago and the nearby bakery - Cerro Plano - Taty's Bakery for coffee & breakfasts. If you need a low key place to stay in Monteverde . . . this is is! Thanks Danilo!
