Excellent value for money, very friendly staff, amazing locally produced food of the highest quality. Very comfortable bed
The ONLY thing I could say was bathroom bin wasn't emptied from previous stay and no wardrobe in the room although there were 3 hooks and 3 hangers. As its normally used for quick stop overs rather than a weeks stay this wouldn't be a problem and in fairness didnt cause us any problems

The warm hospitality, staff are all top notch. Great food served each day. A homely and cosy pub. Room a very good size with ensuite. Comfortable bed. Clean throughout. Location ideal for exploring areas of the Lake District.

Bed was very comfortable and slept well no noise to wake you up . Nice quiet village .staff good and helpful. Had one meal when we arrived and it was excellent . Cannot fault it at all . Definitely stay again
Radiator in the room was just Luke warm yet one on stairs was really hot . Not too much of a problem to be honest just a bit cool when we arrived

A beautiful hotel right in the middle of the village. Very traditional with lovely facilities. The food was also lovely.
Sadly upon arriving mid winter, all of the heating was turned off so my room was really cold. I mentioned it to the bar staff and they tried to override the boiler so the heating could come on. They said it was set to come on at 5pm when the bar opened. However the heating went off at 11pm and there was only a thin duvet and no extra blankets. It got very cold at night and I had to put towels over me to get warm.
For the price of the room, breakfast was also not included or offered.
