Good local inn well worth the stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room clean and warm. Food really good.

Quite noisy in the room which was directly above the bar area. Although this ceased at around 10.30 pm. Booked an adjacent apartment but CH had failed but they contacted us with room in the main building.

Lovely self catering cottage in the heart of Appleby

We stayed in the 1 bed cottage which was a perfect location. We went to the cafe located in the pub for breakfast which was excellent value for money

Unfortunately we were only allowed 2 dogs max, if we could have brought our 3rd we would go back for a weeks stay anytime.

Short trip to Appleby

Friendly, helpful staff . The food was outstanding . For the evening meal I chose chicken piri and my partner the sea bass both were so tasty top quality along with the efficient service you couldn't ask for more .

Beautiful cottage terrible bed

Lovely wee cottage, spotless, well equipped, great big shower.

The bed...most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept in felt like I was sleeping on a hill. Very sore body today.

Comfortable and relaxing

The crown cottage was spotless. It has everything to hand which you may of needed for your stay. The rooms was a good size and beds were comfortable. The lounge was comfortable and relaxing of an evening (after a quick drink in the pub)

The pub next door maybe noisy in the summer but all we heard was voices from the smoking area. The bannister could do with looking at, as this was loose and a concern when my 78yr old parents was using it to access the upstairs or toilet during the night.

We booked last minute and when we arrived the staff were very nice. Our room was lovely. Nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner there and it was lovely. Breakfast was great too. The staff were just so helpful and friendly. Thank you.

Hidden gem

Absolutely everything! We stayed an extra night & will definitely come back. The welcome from staff, and locals, was lovely & the atmosphere in the bar was so relaxed & friendly, for people & dogs. The staff certainly make it special.🥰 The accommodations and situation were outstanding, with absolute quality & attention to detail, at an incredibly reasonable price. We stayed in 'the loft' the first night & it was so good we decided to stay another night! The loft wasn't available but we managed to book into the apartment, at the Cushion bank, across the road. Wow! Absolute luxury, a real gem that you should be so proud of....we're already enthusiastically telling our friends, but wonder if we should keep it as our secret🤫

Beautiful apartment in the heart of the village

Stunning apartment with reclining electric sofa and two bedrooms. Lots of modern fixtures and fittings like black out blinds, coffee machine, full sized fridge and freezer and great tv with sky and Netflix included. Central location to the lovely village of Appleby

We thought it came with direct access to the garden but you had to leave via the front door and through another door which whilst very close, did mean putting the harness and coats on.

Great location in a charming Town of Appleby and right next to this great pub! The cottage was cosy and comfortable. Hope to stay there again some day, good value for money

I would prefer if the pet surcharge was sorted via Booking.com or via money transfer if not allowed by default on checking in - that would save us some stress related to the Booking (some other option than passing all the card details on phone would be appreciated!) Some tools (e.g. chopping board) would be useful

The perfect place to stay on your way to Scotland.

This is the perfect place to stop on your way to Scotland or even to spend a few days, as there are nice walks to do around. The town is nice too. The room we had is actually a good size two-bedroom flat and included a great full English breakfast. It is one of the best value for money place to stay in England!

A lovely home from home.shame about the bed otherwise it would have been perfect

We stayed at 5 The Mews. As soon as we walked in we knew we wouldn’t be leaving again that evening. Having traveled for 8 weeks it was like a home away from home. There are electric recliner couch and seat in the lounge which are devine. The TV gets all the streaming services if you have an account. There is air conditioning. The shower is easy to work and is hot and strong.

The bed is made of 2 single beds pushed together with no topper, so there was a large gap down the middle. The bed is also short, I’m 5’8 and my feet hung over the end of the bed.

Lovely stay in a fab location

The loft suite was spacious and clean, with all comforts considered - including fans for the hot weather, ear plugs in case of noise (although there wasn’t any so we didn’t need them) and lots of towels. Lovely friendly welcome and nothing too much trouble for our host - really made to feel at home. Very family friendly and lovely for our dog too. Dinner and breakfast were amazing - great food, big portions and a fab atmosphere. We’ll be back!
