Sotto il Campanile

We liked the location as it is in the historic centre. Cosimo is a very reactive and kind host. We were allowed to check in early which was greatly appreciated. Good air conditioning.

The apartment was not the one we thought we had booked. Cosimo has a few properties and the pictures on Booking are not clear. We thought we had booked the flat with the rooftop! Pay attention when you book to get the right apartment. The one we had was a little old fashioned in the deco, the kitchen in particular, the wifi didn’t work well (couldn’t use it in the bedroom) and proper shower gel and shampoo would be great. You can only use the air conditioning when present in the flat as all the keys are locked together. I understand that we need to be careful not to use the air conditioning too much. However, being able to refresh the room during dinner to come back to a fresh room for the night would be nice. The cute little “dead end” ended up not being so quiet as there was early noise from building work just opposite our flat. We know it is not Cosimo’s fault but it has to be mentioned.

I loved everything about this! Such a good host and easy. Clean apartment and the best location in old town. Great communication with host! The perfect place to stay in Monopoli

Appartement de charme situé en plein centre historique, proche de tout et à 20 min de marche jusqu'à la plage Paradiso. Avec une kitchinette bien équipée et une machine à café Lavazza. Il y a les produits pour les cheveux et gel douche dans la salle de bain. Il y a un étendoir pour sécher le linge. Dans le cour intérieur on entend quelques bruits de vie, ce qui est normal quand on est en Italie et surtout en plein centre. On peut aussi entendre le son des cloches car l'appartement se situe près d'une église.

I absolutely loved the character of this place! It felt like a hidden gem in Monopoli. I was travelling alone, so I didn't need much space and when you get in, you feel like you've a secret getaway spot for some much needed down time - quiet, good coffee machine and not paying a huge premium for being in the old town - was all that I was after. I'm over 6ft, so you need to be careful when climbing the stairs up to the apartment but it all adds to the charm of the place. And having a little roof terrace for your morning coffee or evening beer to watch the sunset colours apepar is a treat. The host is really friendly and was extremely communicative, gave me local recommendations and made sure I had everything I needed.

Nothing to dislike. A really good option for the single traveller or couple looking to be semi-economical but still feel they are in the right part of town.
