The bathroom was not very clean, the sink water pressure was bad to where it was hard to brush your teeth and not only was the pressure bad but if you took the glass they provided and filled it up with water you couldn’t even see through it, was pretty disturbing! We even found a random sock in our bed that was disgustingly used and left in the bed!

The ambience, the cleanliness of the room, the wonderful breakfast menu, together with its ideal location, made ny stay at Riu Plaza Chicago a most memorable one indeed.

-the room itself was good. Great bathroom. Comfortable bed. Spacious.

The TV wasn’t connected to the WiFi. Despite numerous complaints to reception, the lady kept “logging faults” to no avail. The issue wasn’t resolved throughout our stay which was disappointing. Keep in mind, we reported the issue 3 times… The free wifi provided is abysmal. It works when it works and when it doesn’t, let’s just say, it doesn’t. It fails to connect half of the time. When it does connect, there’s usually no connection. It’s a lucky packet. On second day of the stay, room service wasn’t done despite us leaving the property around 10.45. We had to call in the afternoon to have it done… this was after we returned to our room at 2.30pm.

Property was clean, had everything we needed from gym to rooftop bar. People were nice. It was our Anniversary and they gave a bottle of champagne with kind words on the note, also the higher floor with a great view. Appreciated that a lot!!

Did not give water bottle after day 1. Water should be provided to guests everyday. When called front desk and asked for something they were mostly like you need to come down and grab it (like cutlery at stuff)

Comfortable stay in well-located hotel with international vibe.

Wonderful location within walking distance of many attractions. Great breakfast buffet every morning. (With compost containers for food scraps!) Nutella fans: they had Nutella ON TAP at the buffet. 🤤. Warm, welcoming, and very buttoned-up service. Bathroom had refillable soap/shampoo containers — no plastic waste! Comfy beds. Great international vibe -loved hearing so many different languages spoken around us every day. Nice rooftop bar. Would def stay again.

Felt like it was trying to be a high class hotel but didn’t have the staff or amenities to support it.

The room was clean and fairly comfortable and the breakfast was better than most hotels that include it in their room fee. Location within the city was great.

The staff were not helpful - seemed apathetic - internet access was terrible. Toilets were square(?) and uncomfortable (I know that’s a weird comment but it’s true). Elevators were extremely slow and one of the egress stairwells wouldn’t allow entry on the floors. Our view was of the roof mechanical equipment.

Excellent location and amenities!

The location is within walking distance to major Chicago attractions. The hotel was new and kept very clean. The modern facilities were comfortable and spacious. The staff were courteous and professional and made our stay memorable. The breakfast was excellent—there was something for everyone to enjoy. The rooftop bar is definitely worth checking out to enjoy the views of the city and the observation platform!

Nic breakfast

I arrived 5 am in the morning due to a delayed flight and it rained so heavy in Chicago that day and I was so tired. But in the morning when I called and asked could I delay checking out for an hour late at 1 pm then I was told I am gonna be charged extra 20 dollars an hour if I wanna check out late. Their approach is not really something wrong from a business perspective, but feels lack of flexibility, sympathy and care.
