Dissapointed and annoyed but the lovely location made up for it.
The view and location
Too small with no real catering facilities. Outdoor furniture was rusty and stained our clothes. Unfortunately the description of the property was misleading and did not meet our expectations. Firstly customers need to be aware this is a private letting and not part of the Hanalei resort, so reception cannot help you if you have issues. Whilst the price states includes all taxes and applicable fees it does not and we had to pay the resort additional fees on check out, which was a surprise and not consistent with other lettings we used during our holiday. Resort fees should be assumed by the private renter and included in the price, which is normal practice. The facilities were misrepresented, implying self catering, eg reference to microwave, dinning table etc, which we learned on arrival were removed by the residents association, but when speaking to the manger was 12 months previous but the marketing material not updated. Whilst there were some cutlery, plates, cups etc, there was no sink, so you had to wash them in the bathroom. For a very small apartment being charged a cleaning fee of $205, was also excessive. We did complain and the owners approved a $50 per night refund which helped but overall compared to the other accomodation we experienced in similar standard of quality resort, this was overall poor and dissapointing.
