Westfield Barn

This place is one of 2 of the best places we've ever stayed overseas and we travel a lot. 1 one in Italy and this place in Ireland and we stayed in 3 others here in Ireland this trip. The host Cathy was such a pleasure and she made you feel you've been best friends forever. Terrific communication!. Westfield Barn is must book if you're in the Cashel area or want to explore the south. It has 3 apartments, so not crowded. A very clean, modern, apartment, with everything you need to stay for a week if you want a home away from home as a base and cook some meals. It's drivable to many tourist sites in Southern Ireland. We flew home from Dublin it's only an 1hr 20 min drive (we stayed in Dublin our last night). From here we drove to Killarney National Park (2 hr), drove to Cork (1hr), Blarney Castle (1 hr), Waterford (1 hr); it's a 10 min drive to the Rock of Cashel; it's 10 minutes to town for restaurants and grocery or a laundrymat; and most important Westfield Barn was a haven at the end of a long day site-seeing to rest our feet, have a glass of wine and sit around a wood burning fire enjoying the stars talking about our day and planning the next. The amenities offered were by far perfect. There is an outdoor cooking, eating and lounging area, a sauna and hot tub and an outside fireplace. The living room area is also very comfortable, but we enjoyed the outside fireplace each even night more. We don't think you can go wrong here and when we come back it's going to be a revisit. It's not a didn't like. Must point out, you're on a working farm. We enjoyed the calfs and cats, some may not, but that was part of the charm. Also, there are no screens in Ireland, so keeping the windows open may attract flying bugs ;-) Not a problem just something to be aware of.

Very well equipped and tasteful accommodation beyond our expectations. We particularly enjoyed using the sauna and the hot tub. Great to be able to charge our electric car.
