The Granary, Luxuriously Restored Barn on a Farm

comfortable and cosy house with a wonderful terrace and a nice front garden the owner is such a warm hearted person situated in a calm rural area but with quick access to Thules and major roads for nice daytrips spacious parking the house is well equipped and everything was clean and in perfect condition my children and I really did not want to leave the house, all of us have fallen in love with it

Very well equipped kitchen and basically an incredible property with a grill (we used it a couple times). Wonderful beds and we enjoyed being able to black out the rooms and still enjoy the fresh, crisp air in the mornings. Great bathrooms that never run out of water pressure/hot water, unless the cows are drinking. Private driveway and parking area with a car charger. Great setup for the kids to unwind with some TV after a long day of exploring castles and shops and close enough to highways to make it great for "we are almost home" end of road tripping days. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere - especially our first night, but it's also very close to everything you need for that home base thing. More than once, we woke up to the very pleasant sounds of nature (cows are great). We used this as our home base to explore much of Ireland for a solid week. We could have stayed there for 6 months and not have been annoyed by any of it. Very close (10 minute drive) to the heart of the Thurles and the train station. Super quiet location and the best host we have ever had. Bee is the best!

I really have very few complaints - the microwave beeps a little too loudly? The front door handle is a little tricky? The cows are noisy eaters and sun comes up too early in July. This place is really among the best of dozens of places we have stayed in over the years in many countries.

The host greeted us at the property. Bee welcomed us, showing off the property and making sure we were comfortable with the function of appliances/internet/TV/light switches. A very thorough binder details the property and provides a wide variety of suggested restaurants/stores/entertainment. The Granary was our favorite stay in Ireland. The house is airy, bright, and clean. The furnishings are very comfortable and we slept soundly. The spaces were thoughtfully designed allowing for gathering together by the fire or hiding away in a nook with a book. The two separate en-suites are private and quiet. The showers are hot with good flow. Bee goes above and beyond to ensure guests are well supplied and is always available to help yet unobtrusive.The Hayes family are proud of their re-imagined farm building and how it still honors their farm heritage while offering modern luxuries.

The Granary is practically perfect. Bee is a very special host. Thank you for the opportunity to be recipients of your gracious hospitality. We would love to stay again; hopefully sooner than later!

The property is beautiful inside and outside. Well appointed. Our plan was to have a central location to travel out from daily, to all points in Ireland and this spot was great for that plan. Unpack once, washer/dryer to keep laundry up, kitchen to cook some ourselves. The hosts live just next door and are very attentive, explaining things on arrival and continuing to text almost daily.

Really would have liked a TV in the bedroom for news/weather while getting ready for the day. The hosts park directly outside the kitchen window which could be worth mentioning in case privacy is more valued.
