About this farm stay rental
Escape to the country in our charming and spacious farmhouse. Ideal for families/couples/groups. A perfect place to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Located 1km from the very scenic village of Bansha. Explore the nearby Glen of Aherlow cycle/walking trails, golf courses, the famous Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle and much more. Centrally located for touring all that Tipperary and the south of Ireland have to offer.
Wellfield Farmhouse, which was once our family home, is cosy yet very spacious and full of character. We can accommodate 6 people comfortably. Upstairs there are two large double bedrooms, one with en-suite, one twin bedroom and full bathroom, we also have an annex bedroom with twin beds for 2 extra guests. While downstairs you will find a large, fully equipped kitchen with separate dining room. The living room with its comfy couches has a TV and DVD player. Also on the ground floor there is a utility room and toilet. We have a large inviting hallway and a well equipped kids playroom. There is a large enclosed courtyard to the rear of the farmhouse (safe for small kids), landscaped lawns and elevated garden to the front where you can really relax and enjoy the breath taking views of the Galtee Mountains. Lots of space for kids (and adults) to have fun and explore the elevated tree house hidden in the trees!!!
The Farmhouse is very privately located just outside the village of Bansha. The perfect place to take time to relax in the peace and quiet of the Irish countryside. Guests can explore the beautiful Glen of Ahelow and Galtee Mountains during their stay with us. There are many looped walks/bike trails offered. The majestic Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle are also nearby for your enjoyment. Other local attractions include mountain biking, numerous golf courses, pitch&putt, fishing, hiking, horse racing, indoor swimming pool and playground and fabulous award winning local restaurants.
If you want to venture further there are many places and things worth visiting.
The Blue flag beaches of Clonea and Ardmore are only a little over 1hr away.
The Waterford Greenway, Suir Blueway, Bunratty Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Mitchelstown caves, the medieval city of Kilkenny and Kilkenny castle are only a few suggestions for a perfect day trip from our place.
You will find plenty to entertain young and old during your stay with us
Bansha Village is just 1km away where you will find two well stocked shops, a petrol station, fastfood takeaway, a church and Nellies Bar. Nellies that serves a lovely pint of Guinness and the fast food takeaway serves fresh chips, burgers and pizzas.
There is a private avenue into the farmhouse thus making car parking safe and secure. We have sensor lights in the yard for your safety.
We love meeting new people and take great satisfaction ensuring that you thoroughly enjoy your stay. We run a dairy farm and live 3kms away so are always just a phone call away to answer whatever queries you may have.
We are a 10mins drive to the towns of Tipperary and Cahir
15mins to the historic town of Cashel.
We are at the crossroads of your Irish journey, if you're deciding to travel north, south, east or west. Many of our guests have told us they wished they had stayed longer with us. This is probably due to the tranquil setting and location of our house. So catch your breath with us and enjoy visiting the many attractions in the area, even take in a hurling game and see our national sport up close.

Totally great experience! We stayed 10 nights. Grocery store close by. We cooked a few nights. Our host, Christine, gave us great info of the area & places to visit. The Farmhouse was beautiful & comfy inside & out. We WILL BE BACK! Going to recommend this place to everyone traveling to Ireland!

This very charming, historic site served as a wonderful «centralized base » for exploring Cashel, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Cork, allowing us to do multiple day trips to these cities. More than enough room for the 4 of us, could easily fit two families of four. Though the age of the property comes with some quirks, would definitely recommend!

my family of 6, the house was very clean and comfortable, and the price point was inexpensive. A couple short falls in the description. No hot tub, and the dryer was in the barn, thought the red door pictured. Also lost internet one night, and hot water was a problem. These problems lead us to leave a day early and found other lodging for our last night.
