About this apartment rental
Your 31 m² (334 sq ft) studio with a fully-equipped kitchenette is freshly renovated. The bed is 140 cm wide with a new top-rated Emma mattress, and many a visitor told that they enjoyed their best night sleep ever. The sofa-bed features a 20 cm thick mattress, I made sure it was going to be as comfortable as a regular bed!
Relax in the tranquility of this large house, in the family since 1803, surrounded by nature (1 ha garden, 4 ha forest), whilst only 4 minutes drive away from Pont-Audemer (known as the Norman Venice, with its many canals, and two markets per week). Anywhere in the property one does not see any neighbours; if you stretch your neck you might see the odd house quite far away.
Its location is absolutely ideal to explore Normandy : the main cities (Caen, Le Havre, Rouen) are plus or minus an hour away, the famous seaside resorts are close by: Honfleur is a 30-minute drive, and Deauville and Trouville are 40 minutes away. There are an array of splendid castles and beautiful villages
You have a private terrace with a BBQ, a large private garden, and access to the rest of the property: an orchard, an apple-tree plantation, lawns with rhododendrons and azaleas. There are paths through my woods, all marked.
The house dates from after the French Revolution; it was erected by one of my ancestors. Prior to that there was in its place an hunting lodge which was destroyed during these events. These woods had, and have, plenty of game. There is an old cider press — an impressive piece of industrial machinery. My father made cider until the 1970s, and before him, my great-uncle was a Calvados distiller.
I have a dedicated blog with many an info and suggestion re where to eat, where to shop, where to go for daily trips, what sports are available (e.g. walking, swimming, canoeing):
