About this house rental
Our cottage Les Hauts de Saint Jean is located on the edge of the picturesque bastide of Molières. This old farmhouse has been completely restored to ensure calm and independence. Its large swimming pool (6x12m) will ensure you a relaxing stay with family or friends.
Composed of 6 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a living room/bar, a fitted kitchen and a spacious dining room, the cottage is equipped with reversible air conditioning, radiators, 2 wood stoves, wifi. Outside, you can eat on a large covered terrace, you will have 2 barbecues, a playground on a large field as well as a ping-pong table and swings.
Ideally located on the border of the black and purple Périgord, you will find less than 15 minutes away the caves of Maxange, the village of Cadouin whose abbey is classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as the abbey church of the village of Saint Avit Senieur.
Less than 30kms, many tourist sites: the villages of Montferrand du Périgord, Issigeac, Limeuil, the bastides of Beaumont, Montpazier, Dômme classified among the most beautiful villages in France; the castles of Beynac and Castelnaud. Further east, the famous medieval city of Sarlat.
For sports enthusiasts, there is no shortage of activities: canoeing (11 km) on the Dordogne or the Vézère, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, golf (20 km), paintball (5 km),...
Rental preferably by the week, possibility on weekends with a minimum of 2 nights, contact us.
Linen rental possible: fitted sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase, bath and towels. 24€ for a double bed, 18€ for a single bed.

This spacious property is ideal for larger groups, with all of the bedrooms having full ensuites. The garden is lovely, with plenty of room and beautiful fig trees.
The covered terrace was a particularly nice feature and very useful, meaning that you could eat outside even when the weather was wet.
The pool is a good size, but is very deep, so not ideal for children or those less confident swimmers. It's also not heated, so unless the weather is hot all of the time, the water can be chilly. There were plenty of sun loungers, which was appreciated,
Two fridges were useful, and much needed, but one wasn't working properly. Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, we found more basic items were missing and there wasn't enough cupboard space for food (because there was so much kitchen equipment we didn't use).
It did feel that the house and pool needed some maintenance and TLC, although overall it is a nice property in a nice area.
The bathrooms are dated and a little tired, but there was plenty of hot water.
The air con was on a timer that we couldn't adjust, which was frustrating during hot days.
There's a very useful utility room, with a washing machine and tumble drier, which was helpful for our large group.
The location is very nice and surrounded by lovely walks.
The nearest bakery is approximately 12 minutes drive away.
The owner was very helpful and responsive.
We enjoyed our stay, despite the mixed weather.
