About this villa rental
On the border of the Lot et Garonne and the Périgord, the Clos de Lagalvagne is ideally located for visiting the bastides, villages of character. The vineyards of Bergerac and the castles of the Dordogne are also a stone's throw away. The house is located in an old farm, in the countryside. Open since the summer of 2023, the place is quiet and isolated, suitable for families as well as groups wishing to get together. Pets are generally welcome by agreement.
The fully restored stone building has more than 300m² with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms with shower and double sink and 4 toilets. Kitchen, dining room and living room form a large and very pleasant communicating living space. The cottage has a second separate living room, equipped with a billiard table. The first floor, which has 5 of the 6 bedrooms, is air-conditioned.
The beds, toilets and bathrooms are distributed as follows:
- On the first floor: a 17m² suite with a double bed 160, en-suite bathroom, private toilet and walk-in shower.
- Upstairs: 3 double bedrooms, 2 with a double bed (14m² each) and a bedroom with a bed 140 (bedroom 10m²);
- Two large family rooms for 3 and 4 people of 17 and 18m²: one with a 160 bed and 2 single beds, the second bedroom with 3 single beds, two of which can be twinned into a large bed of 180.
- 3 bathrooms with walk-in shower and double sink. Two bathrooms are adjoining the family rooms but can also serve the other rooms as they have double access.
- A common toilet on the first floor and two upstairs.
THE OUTDOORS
Two terraces, one covered and the second equipped with an electric awning, allow you to eat at any time of the day or night. The swimming pool, 11*5m in size with a flat bottom inclined from 1.1m to 1.5m deep, is ideal for play and relaxation. The pool is heated and has a mid-high and retractable pool enclosure. It ensures safety and allows swimming whatever the weather.
OUTDOOR FACILITIES: Parking, Covered terrace, gas plancha, barbecue, large brazier, ping pong table, darts, playground for children, various games (petanque balls, molky, footballs, rugby balls, beach rackets...).
INTERIOR EQUIPMENT: Fiber Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchen (filter coffee maker and senseo), 2 large refrigerators, one with freezer compartment, large screen smart TV, washing machine, 2 travel cots, 2 baby chairs...
Essential shops are 3km away in Castillonnès. The nearest large town is Bergerac 25 minutes away with its airport.
Weekly rental possible all year round, cleaning included.

The property was excellent, with fantastic communication with Jeremie the host.I would recommend the whole experience with the farm house exceeding our expectations. It was well appointed, comfortable furniture and the air conditioned bedrooms were perfect when the temperature was at 40deg. In addition the pool was well equipped and maintained impeccably.The local area also didn't disappoint with some beautiful chateaus, villages and attractions to fill the time.

The farmhouse is so beautiful inside and out. The highlights were the swimming pool, the darts and the pool table which our son enjoyed very much. The house is very private but doesn’t feel isolated at all and was just a cycle or quick drive to the boulangerie. There is also a lovely lake to swim in about 10 minutes drive away. The location was perfect for us as it was in the middle of many beautiful towns with great markets and boutique shops. We all fell in love with the area! Jeremie was an excellent host, who was always available if needed but was very respectful of our privacy too. We would definitely recommend his property to our friends.

CLOS DE LAGALVAGNE was perfect. We were a family of 8 adults and 7 children and the facilities ticked all the boxes. The kitchen diner was large enough to sit everyone but we ate outside most of the time. It was clean, well equipped with shower rooms upstairs adjacent to the bedrooms and an ensuite shower and toilet for the ground floor bedroom ( which was not air conditioned but cool enough) with another toilet on the ground floor. It is in an excellent isolated location surrounded by fields and agricultural land yet close to Castillonnès (where there is an Intermarche with cheap petrol) and lovely French villages including Issigeac and Villeréal. Another bonus is that it is only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport which is very tiny. Everyone enjoyed the salt water pool which had steps at one end for little ones to sit or stand on. There is also a playroom with a snooker table and a table tennis table and darts board in a covered area outside with plenty of outside spaceThe owner was very welcoming, friendly and discreet and cleaned and filled the pool regularly. He also responded very quickly to the few minor issues that we encountered with the kitchen sink not draining or to replace the batteries in the air conditioning ( which was a game changer for sleeping at night) in the thermostat controller in one of the bedrooms.It is one of the best, if not the best, holiday rentals for large families that we have stayed in and we would not hesitate to stay there again.
